There was no one but himself.
Himself, his ugly, open wound of an attachment, festering, infected with green and black pus and rot, and his inability to take the bandage off and show Anakin the damage he’s done to himself by reopening the gash every time Anakin tried to show his own wound.
All he did was keep covering both of their injuries.
Someday, the blood would catch infection, and they would both perish with the rash of yearning staining their skin, unsated.
But at this particular moment, only Obi-Wan was bleeding.

I had a plan. Return to the Dursleys while Thomas and my legal team worked the probate and family court angles. Keep the Dursley situation out of the papers. Simple. Easy. Then Cornelius Fudge spied an opportunity to publicly humiliate Dumbledore. My plan fell apart.
Now, I’m caught between my cousin, an occassional ally, and the enemy who altered my mind on such a fundamental level I may never completely recover. I need time to heal--the ministry labeled acromantulas known wizard killers for a good reason--put my head back together, and rediscover the boy Dumbledore tried to replace with the boy-who-lived, but time is running out. Neutrality may no longer be an option.
On Hiatus: Beginning April 28, this story will be on a 3-4 month hiatus. I love working on it and interacting with everyone here and pinky swear I'll return (with bells on). I'm self-employed and recently took on several major projects that will be consuming all of my work time, my free time, my walking the dog time, basically any spare minute I would've once devoted to things I enjoy but don't get paid to do. I hope ya'll have a wonderful summer. See you on the other side.

Summary
Life on the Island was peaceful for Owen, minus the impending doom in the form of an erupting volcano and three hyperactive hatchlings. Oh, did he also mention the weird visions he was also getting like some sort of prophetic future vision mayhem about to happen which Owen calls total BS.
Things take a turn when they were suddenly visited (again!) by humans and this time, the dinosaurs would find themselves displaced in a world completely not of their own. It never occurred to Owen how much his parents sought out help just to find out the truth of what happened to him. It also never occurred to him he may have to introduce his new family to his old one.
2 lives in which he lived and still lives in are about to collide and he already has enough of his plate with a crazy modified dinosaur intent on stealing his girls.
Over his dead body.

Owen Grady has always felt more connected to animals than to people. He capitalized on this connection in the Navy to train dogs and dolphins, and he uses it when Simon Masrani calls him to ask if he wants a job. Velociraptors can't be so different from all the other animals he's worked with, right?
Then the first egg hatches.
He watches as sharp claws pierce the outer shell of the egg, slowly tearing open the material. The animal moves slowly. She’s just a baby, he knows, so her muscles aren’t at their best, but even now he’s sure those claws could rip out his throat with no effort. A yellow eye peers out from the gap in the egg. Owen stares back at it, unblinking. He smiles as a noise comes from the egg, a raspy chirp that makes an inhuman sound of his own bubble up his throat before he can push it back down.
