Clover has been trapped in a loop of running through all the different routes of Undertale Yellow for ten real-time years.
Then, during one of the thousands of hateful massacres that have played out, something changes.
Right at the end of the bloodsoaked path, unable to suppress a guilt gnawing at them from within, Clover turns their gun on the yellow flower a touch early.
The gunslinger fights Flowey with an equal level of Determination. The save file is damaged in the crossfire, and the save system is destroyed.The data corruption sends Clover through the void, all the way back to just outside Mt. Ebott, and also ages the gunslinger as well as the world itself by ten years.
While in the void, he sees fragments of events in the other routes, and a vision of a person he's never met before trapped in a certain laboratory.Burdened by the weight of his sins from his last journey, and armed with a vastly more mature body and mind, the fully grown cowboy decides he has to do things differently this time.
No more SAVEs. No more LOADs. No more RESETs.
All actions have permanent, irreversible consequences.

In the midst of the discord, Tikal the Echidna and Chaos break free from their hold inside the Master Emerald. Confused by the current era, Tikal is relegated to the isle and Mystic Ruin.
While Rouge is tasked with hunting the shards with Knuckles, Shadow is ordered to guard Shrine Isle, and the spirits that reside on it, including Tikal the Echidna.

It seems that the pair who met similar fates seem to have coped well by entangling in each other's lives (somehow)
(Edit: This fic is NOT about underage romance, literally NONE. I've tried everything in my power and opinion to stray away from the underage romance, Clover and Kanako are all aged up, and it's not weird, you just gotta trust me- please they have a gun to my head- just Please PLEA-)
