Once again, Peter Parker has left Michelle Jones speechless.
She knows he’s probably just confused. He’s an idiot and drunk and he is not the best with feelings so he’s either confused or lying (except he has tells, and he didn’t do any of them; he didn’t bite his lip or twiddle his fingers or cough awkwardly or stammer but those are his tells so she probably didn’t notice when he did them).
There is no way on Earth that Peter fucking Parker, certified nerd who moonlights in spandex in his free time, has a crush on her. Plus, like mentioned before, he’s drunk, so who knows?

May has asked him a few times how long he’s likely to be an escort for - knowing that as respectful as she is about sex work being work - it doesn’t make it any easier for him to find a partner. Especially as his double life already makes that significantly harder. If he’s being truthful he’s not sure - he’d be happy to quit the second he found someone he might even consider wanting to date. He just hasn’t found anyone. He’s not he’s going to anytime soon.
He flounders halfway down the corridor when he hears the elevator come to a stop at his floor and he’s momentarily annoyed that he didn’t hear it come up. The doors open with a ding and he watches as it all happens in slow motion. Her head lifts from where she was looking at her phone - she catches his gaze and looks away putting her phone in her bag. She can’t be there for him, right? He’s never been this lucky before.

Well, that's what he assumes it's doing, judging by the way everyone else leans into the warmth from the fire pit, pulling their sweaters, jackets, blankets, and other self-warming-devices tighter around them. Ned and Betty are almost on top of each other in their loveseat, the low-fifty-degree weather being the perfect excuse to snuggle up on a back patio couch and roast marshmallows. Cindy's curled up on the chair, a gray fuzzy blanket draped over her shoulders as she sips on a mug of hot chocolate, her hands glued to the sides.
And MJ…
Well, MJ's the reason Peter's not really feeling the cold.
