On her first day back, she gets a call from Eddie Diaz, who had an accident on his way to the airport to catch his flight for El Paso. Fearing that Eddie won't make it out alive, he asks May if he can use the call to record a message, using the moment to confess his love to Chris and Buck, and coming to terms with his sexuality. However, the 118 manages to get Eddie out on time, ensuring that he makes a full recovery. Now that May knows about Eddie's feelings, she helps him to sort it out.
