But when she's captured and made prisoner at Malfoy Manor, of all the dark and evil ways she'd envisioned Malfoy would torture her, she never quite imagined anything this horrific.I just wanted to make it abundantly clear that I was originally inspired to write this fic after I read the masterpiece that is Manacled, so I would like to thank SenLinYu for her amazing work! The memory searching aspect of Manacled is what inspired me, and although I have adapted that, (and also made Draco head Death Eater, because... ya know... we all love it when he's Voldemort's right hand man 😅😉), Secrets and Masks will be a very very different fic all together.

“Well,” Eric brought his cigarette back to his lips. “You found me. You can get lost now.”
Kyle rolled his eyes. “That shit is so bad for you. I don’t know why you smoke.”
“That doesn’t sound like ‘getting lost’ to me.”

“That sounds more like an opinion.”
“It’s true, Kahl,” Cartman swirls the can of soda in his hand. “I can probably give a better handjob than any chick out there. Because I know the stuff that makes me squirm, therefore I’m more likely to be able to make any man out there have a good fucking time.”
“I doubt that.”
Cartman scoffs. “Whatever you say, Kahl. But I could probably prove it to you.”
Kyle shouldn't be entertaining the idea of smoking weed with his frenemy and playing silly "would you rather" games. But it's not like he has anything better to do.

Summary
The other issue with the parties, Kyle finds, is that they’re often just too goddamn boring. They’re all the same formula. People get drunk, they pull out the games, people hook up, pass out, and then it’s all over social media. And it’s not like the people who hook up with each other ever change it up, no, it’s always the same damn couples. Stan and Wendy are notorious for this. Others include Clyde and Bebe, and Tweek and Kenny. It’s predictable, like reading the final page of the book when you’re really only halfway through.
Perhaps that’s why Kyle is smoking tonight. Usually he only indulges in some drinks, but being plagued by the impending predictability of the evening caused him to want to do something different. He also usually doesn’t escape this far, only going just outside onto the deck or against the side of the house.
It is peaceful, though.
He hears the crunching of twigs and leaves.
Well, it was good while it lasted.
(In which Kyle is tired of the same, old, formulaic, day-to-day shit, and Eric has to remind him that he's the one behind the wheel)

He had watched eagerly and in anticipation as the bottle slowed its fast spinning motion, his heart a boisterous rhythm in his chest. For a moment, he thought that accepting Bebe’s invitation was the smartest thing he had ever done—it wasn't often he got to kiss the girls in his class.
A thought he'd soon retract as the bottle slowed, and then stopped.
And now, he stares at the person who is sitting in the direction where the bottle is pointing, and suddenly, this game isn’t so fun anymore.

Kyle blinks, eyebrows furrowing in confusion as he removes his hands from his eyes. His vision focuses on the bartender in front of him.
Oh, Christ.
He’s changed a bit since high school, appearance-wise, but there’s no doubt that the man in front of him is Eric Cartman. He’s still sporting the same, round face, although now it’s coupled with a bit of stubble. His once wavy, brown hair is now trimmed short and pointed. A tattoo sleeve runs along his right arm, consisting of a snake, a cat, and several other random designs that Kyle can’t quite distinguish in the low lighting of the bar.
“...Cartman,” Kyle replies curtly. Of course he would run into someone he used to know. And of course it'd be someone like Cartman.
Sometimes, when you're at your lowest, it's the people whom you least expect that manage to bring you back up.
