Darth Maul’s fate was all but set the moment Darth Sidious stole the child away from Dathomir. He was indoctrinated into hate, and misery and death. Taught to dwell on his rage, sink into his pain and by the time he was free of the abusive hand of his master, it was too late. He only knew anger and hurt. He only knew how to harm.
But what if he didn’t?
What if, by a twist of fate, that there was a lifeline for him to reach onto? Something that could pull him from the dark and away from the path that lead to the desert under the twin suns? If, in the beginning, there was another, that connected to his hearts… could he be saved from his fate?

It's a city that doesn’t ever really sleep. Even in the quiet hours, it only waits. Waits for the next unsuspecting fool to stumble into the shadows. To be swallowed into the darkness. It only took a few steps to stray from the path and fall. Some fall into it, blindly flailing for a handhold.
But some. Some walk into the shadows with their eyes open. My eyes are open. I know what this path will lead me to. I know these old familiar shadows. I have seen the true face of this city and I will not shy away. Mother, I know you wanted better for me, but I cannot turn away, not after learning the truth. Perhaps if I can make the monster of our past pay… well. I make no promises. I know this path. And I shall reach its end, one way or another.My name is Zaiya Valessa and I have come to this city seeking only one thing. Revenge.

Cad Bane's on the hunt - he’s been offered a job by Tour Aryon, the Imperial Governor of the desert planet – figure out who's been selling weapons to would-be rebels - remaining groups of Separatists - straight out of Mos Eisley. He has a hunch, but Kayson would never risk himself, or his reputable business. He has another to do it for him - a certain someone - and she has the most luscious lips, the widest hips …
He’s seen her dance, smelled her pheromones, and watched her work diligently for her "employer." One thing’s for sure: things aren't always as they seem.
