Summary
Because Spider-Man canonically should've been there and only wasn't because Sony and Disney are like children playing with their toys in the sandbox.
Begins with a new take of the end of the Thunderbolts movie, proceeds vastly differently from there. The New Avengers are the textbook case of the underdogs, and who better to elevate this team of misfits than the King of the Underdogs: The Amazing Spider-Man. Plus, the New Avengers desperately need a tech guy and more diversity in abilities.

Summary
The story of Ben Tennyson like you haven't seen him before. Azmuth was desperate for a hero, desperate for hope, and he was willing to go to any means necessary to get it. If that means taking the greatest Plumber in history and molding him into the sentinel of peace the galaxy needs, so be it. It's too bad the Omnitrix can't tell the difference between grandfather and grandson.
Uses the MCU as a base for the crossover, but modifies it with material from comics, games, and other media.

Peter Parker just wants to do the right thing for his city. The guilt from the Homecoming fiasco was only outweighed by his exhaustion, and the enhanced psychos popping up every other day isn't helping. Now with Alien weapons still littering the streets, and the Maggia moving to fill the power vacuum, he was really hoping that the Parker Luck could take a day off.

The first words Clark ever spoke to Gwen were purely involuntary. He had been coming home from work when he noticed a small blonde woman trying her hardest to drag a heavy cardboard box behind her with a tiny blonde girl seated on her hip, safely nestled in her free arm. Clark had heard from the property manager that someone was moving into the apartment across from his, but he was still surprised to see this woman struggling on her own.
