It felt like he was being drugged once again, eyes struggling to translate the colors and lights. It would be so easy to close them instead, with the lack of pain or much of anything at all…
It took an embarrassingly long time to understand what was right in front of his eyes. The lack of oxygen was admittedly getting to his brain and messing up with reason and fright but in his defense, it wasn’t every day that you found yourself face to face with a mountain-sized human.
“Oh.”
It took him another second to realize the sound had slipped from his throat.

In their new explorations the Eridians find a strange world with a human machine floating on the surface. After bringing it back Ryland discovers English writing and seemingly Earth technology. When they travel to the moon to further investigate they find nothing but a strange tree that attacks them. Inside the tree is a man refusing to give up.
