Tommy immediately began tuning out the conversation. His social worker was on the phone with some guy that he was told to not 'scare away'. He had planned to listen in to the conversation as much as he could since he got bored of scratching the paint off of the old as shit office chair. The blond boy was scraping his nails clean with a pen when the phone was suddenly in his face. He just blatantly dropped the pen on the floor before taking it, not listening to whatever Mariah was angrily whispering to him.

“That’s not fair,” Bad protests. Dream raises an eyebrow at him and jerks his tied hands in emphasis, clearly saying that none of this is fair.
“Look, you keep running! Who runs if they’re not guilty?” Bad challenges, staring him down with obvious distrust from the generous distance of exactly five feet. It’s fair, as much as Dream hates to admit it; it’s not like he’s been the most honest hostage in the past, with all of his escaping and running and framing himself for his own murder, apparently.
“Only the good die young, and only the guilty run,” Technoblade chimes in, holding his own potato and sitting in the snow like it’s not cold at all.
A hot flash of irritation burns through him.
“Someone being chased?” he counters sarcastically, jerking his tied wrists up again to wave them in front of the group. Sapnap laughs so hard that he almost chokes on his potato, but it dies off when Dream gives him an icy stare.
Or: Dream is having a hard time, and the hunter just want to adopt him like a stray puppy that bites you at every opportunity.

Aces are one of the most powerful beings in existence. Their only purpose? To serve the Kingdoms they were sent to, for as long as the Magic that sent them required them to. Lifespans of an Ace could vary, from as short as a few years to a few millenium. Where did Aces go after they died? No one knows, but one thing's for sure: they don't show up again.
George is just a simple villager minding his own business, before Dream, the Ace of Spades swept into his life like a hurricane. He casually announces that George has to come with him and drags him on hundreds of close shaves with death.
George doesn't know how long he'll live, at this rate.

Techno, semi-retired, mostly bored, discovers trouble disguised as a child and an old friend injured and hiding in his home and only pretends to put up a fight as his farm becomes the foundation for a burgeoning revolution.
What can he say? It’s the most interesting thing to happen in a while even if he’s exhausted from the second Tommy opens his mouth.

Once or twice he ditched the cloak when farming potatoes in the midday sun became simply too unbearable, but even then his shirts all had long sleeves. Tommy never thought to wonder what he looks like underneath.
Seeing Techno now, he’s willing to bet that was intentional.
(Tommy always knew Techno was a badass, but like, damn. He's a madman.)

"I- I don't know- what the fuck? What's going on?" Eret turned to his friends, hoping for some kind of explanation. They looked at him incredulously.
"Hold on, what did you just say?" Tommy asked him.
"I said, what's going-" Eret didn't have time to finish when he felt a sharp sting in his neck.
Instantly, he collapsed to the ground, his muscles giving out on him as energy drained from his body. The sounds of bodies falling to the ground surrounded him as each of his friends fell alongside him. He tried to scream, but his mouth wouldn’t open. Fear rushed through his veins.
An iron needle clattered to the ground next to him, the tip coated with an iridescent gray mixed with blood. He watched as the strange mixture seeped into the cold, stone ground.
A shadow loomed over him, a porcelain mask leering down. "Eret, you were supposed to be on our side. I’m glad I came prepared.”
