But as the hours stretch into days and Max remains unconscious, the careful walls Charles built begin to crumble and he can finally admit that what they shared stopped being casual long ago. Summary
Sitting on his doorstep was a basket. It looked normal enough, until you really looked at it, until you smelt it. Something was moving beneath the cloth covering it, and when another, more distressed cry rang out, Oscar moved quickly.
He knelt next to it as he lifted the cloth, and had to hold back his gasp of shock. Someone had left a baby… a fucking baby, on his doorstep.
Oscar hadn't thought much would happen during his winter break. He thought he would spend it lounging around monaco while he recovered from another dissapointing season, but he'd never had the best luck.
Now he was a father, and he was going to need all the help he could get.
Enter Lando norris, teammate and baby-whisperer.

Summary
The room was dim, the overhead lights off, only a small lamp glowing softly near the bed. Max stopped just inside the doorway.
The room smelt of bitter citrus peels, and the tang of salt. Max's nose crinkles at the scent of distress wafting off of the small figure on the bed.
Charles lay curled slightly on his side, knees drawn in, one arm tucked close to his chest. Too thin. Too still. There was a faint crease between his brows even in sleep, like his body didn’t know how to fully let go anymore. His hair looked limp, his eyes sunken. There were bruises visible on his skin, purple and yellow and green.
His other arm is curled protectively around his abdomen.

“What doesn’t?” Oscar’s brows pull together, the back of his neck heating up. Swallowing, he goes to take a small step forward, to bridge the miles of distance between them, but he stops himself at the last second. Instead, runs his thumb nail over the pad of his pointer finger. Lets it carve into the pink skin.
Raising his hand, Lando flings it to the side, as if swatting away a particularly insistent fly.
“That you’re so, like. Beta.”

Summary
It’s under-exposed and grainy, clearly caught with frantic hands before either of them had the chance to notice the phone camera pointed at them. Just barely discernible in the low light, Oscar is leaning against the wall outside some nondescript building in Monaco with his head thrown back, laughing in that stupid, exaggerated way he always seems to when Lando Norris is involved. Lando’s not fully facing the camera, but his hair and side profile give him away. He’s pressing a kiss to the corner of Oscar’s mouth, one hand tangled in the hair at the back of his neck while the other rests on his waist. It is, unfortunately, the kind of photo a person could stare at forever. Tangible evidence of a life well-lived and well-loved.
OR: Oscar and Lando get outed, and the world keeps turning.

“What’s Charles doing these days anyway? Is he coming?”
He tried to sound as nonchalant as he possibly could, even if it probably wouldn’t matter if he didn’t because Oscar actually was the most nonchalant person he ever met and wouldn’t think anything weird about him asking anyway.
“Oh, isn’t he here yet? I didn’t notice, with all the organization and stuff.” Oscar looks around for a second, looking for him. “Lando didn’t mention anything about him coming later, but I reckon he’s probably late for a good reason. You know, with the baby and all that, I wouldn’t mind too much if he takes a bit more time than expected to join us.”
Max feels like he doesn’t understand English anymore. The most logical explanation about what Oscar just said is that he suddenly lost all ability to understand foreign languages.
“His what?”
Or: a year ago, Max met Charles during Lando’s birthday and started the shortest, most intense fling he experienced in his entire life. This time around, Charles shows up with a pup. Max has a couple of questions.

In 2015, when Max first joined F1 as a fresh-faced rookie, the pack shut him out because of the wrongness and temperament that existed on him like a second skin. In 2025, Max has mellowed out and the pack, specifically the rookies, begin coming to him. Whether they are tired, angry, hurting, or unsure, Max never says no. He doesn’t weigh the risks of involving himself with a pack that doesn't claim him; he only registers that someone needs something, and that he knows how to give.
Layered on that, Max has a secret that the pack doesn’t know nor understand but they begin to circle it. It lives in the way he goes still when certain voices drop, in how his eyes glaze when someone gets too close, in how he never asks for anything and how every so often he'll disappear and return as a ghost.
OR: The 2025 rookies get attached to Max very quickly, pulling him into grid pack dynamics. Unfortunately, Max was cut from the pack in 2015 by Lewis and he still doesn't accept him. Now that Max is getting closer again, the grid is starting to notice something is very wrong with him.

Summary
Max is the youngest driver to ever compete in F1. But also the first ever to be an Omega on the grid (At least, of the open ones. Some could've been taking blockers like him). He had it drilled into him by his father that he was a disgrace for his secondary gender, and he must hide it from everyone to not bring shame to the Verstappen name. He was told many times that all the alphas on the grid would swarm him if he ever came off those blockers. And that was what he believed would happen.
So, why the fuck is he so confused now?
