Summary
When the Infection ended without explanation, the Dreamers arose from their slumber, and the land of Hallownest began to drag itself back to life, Hornet knew there would be troubles yet to come. With most resources scarce, many of the surviving bugs left disabled by the disease, and the vast majority of agricultural infrastructure devastated, Hallownest may yet be undone: not by a higher being, but the mortal logistics of hunger. When scouts from Pharloom arrive and attempt to capture a Weaverling, Hornet sees an opportunity to turn what could be another disaster into a chance for Hallownest to recover.
Pharloom is, as always, starved for Silk. When the Grand Mother's wayward daughters are located, under the protection of a Wyrm, forcibly reclaiming them would be dangerous. Fortunately, Hallownest is willing to offer up its Weaver princess for marriage in exchange for supplies that can easily be spared. Accompanied only by her silent knight, such a creature will surely be vulnerable to the manipulations of Pharloom's court.

The Hollow Knight notices its sister missing from Hallownest all of a sudden. After noticing a trail and signs of a fight, the prime vessel follows it intently all the way to Pharloom. The trail here goes cold however, with criss crossing paths and its own inexperienced hunting skills not letting it decipher the specific path its sister took, forcing the vessel to cross these treacherous lands on its own. Along the way, the vessel encounters a certain silk-spun bug with a flair for the dramatic, and the two grow a lot along their journey.
