Sparked by the probable throwaway, forgettable line from Pet Sematary 2 (of all things) that Marjorie utters to Chase, "Did you see Gus at the funeral?" after Amanda and Drew's deaths, I thought how wild it would be to conduct a funeral arrangement and beyond with Sheriff Gus Gilbert. Zombie hijinks, one-liners and eventual smut will ensue.

Abigail Remeltindtdrinc is a young schoolmistress and Magnus Hammersmith is a schoolmaster/disciplinarian at "Klok Academy" just before the American Civil War. When everyone forgets Abigail's birthday, he pulls out all the stops and treats her to a very romantic dinner date. In the course of the evening, they get to know each other and learn that appearances can be deceiving - in a good way.I broke this up into tastier little chapters and edited it the best I could - the whole thing all together was a bit of a beast before. Originally published as "A Night on the Town."
