The thing is, that would be lying, and he doesn't do that. No, the truth is that it's very much the other way around, and he has no idea how to convince Crowley to help him save the world when he can't even stand the sight of him.
But that's fine. Aziraphale is a professional. He can work with Crowley. Professionally. With no feelings. He's been doing that for years.

“Shop’s closed,” Crowley growled once more, smoldering. He snapped his fingers, fully intending on miracling the man out of the bookshop — but he merely smiled mildly at the demon, looking nonplussed.
“Oh, those don’t work on me, sorry,” he said, rather pleasantly. “It’s quite good to see you again, Crowley.”
Crowley stared at him.
It was only then he understood that he was staring at Him.
Crowley is perfectly - well, not happy, but perfectly fine - to spend his days in the bookshop, drinking and grieving and wishing things had gone differently.
That is, until the Son of God turns up, asking to have a word with him about Aziraphale. Something's gone down in the Up - and the angel really would never cease to surprise him.

When Prof. Anthony Crowley and Asa Fell met, it was obviously the universe speaking. It was a chaos corrected, a cosmic breath with a whiff of previous existences, bringing them together. Faraway, ancient souls finding one another, time after time.
So in love, they almost fail to notice what's missing. Namely: the friction. The fire. The challenge. The tart flavours and spice! Are they really just two mild-mannered, bookish men destined for a mild-mannered, beige life? Or is there something darker—snarling sarcasm, toxic pasts, and a streak of raw self-destruction—hiding just beneath the surface?
More importantly, what fucked-up turn of events will it take to drag it all out into the open?

Summary
The thing about stars was that people thought they were fixed. Even Anthony, who knew better, could sometimes fall into the romance of it: the sky as a pattern, the constellations as ancient furniture. But stars were never still. They burned, collapsed, and devoured themselves, making new elements in the furnace of their deaths. The steady ones only looked steady from far enough away.
