Peter pulled out a small rectangular box, wiggling it over his shoulder in the scant light from the storage room. "I've got a recorder."
"Wow," Johnny deadpanned. "Remind me to be gentle when I tell you how unsexy your profession is. Oh wait."
"Shut up."
There was a quiet snort behind him. "I don't think you want me to shut up. I think you've missed hearing my voice."
Peter had, but there was no reason to tell Johnny that right now. There was no need to needlessly stroke his ego; not until they were actually in bed and Peter could stroke his ego.
In which Peter is stuck between a rock and a hard place—only replace rock with keeping quiet and hard place with Johnny.

The body of a Prince was not like anyone’s. His hand only ever held others in a firm handshake, and rarely without gloves. Sometimes he would raise the delicate hands of noble ladies to his lips for a brief kiss, but it was all out of propriety. He rarely touched others, but what was even rarer was others touching him. The only ones who dared were his knights, and even they only smacked his shoulder or patted his back in friendly roughhousing. Gripping each other’s arms before battle was the most heartfelt touch they exchanged. Lingering soft touches were not done. Any lingering touch on his person could be interpreted as political movements. After all, Arthur’s body wasn’t his own. It never had been. He was Camelot’s first and foremost. Even above his own needs and wants.

Summary
They still fought, but now they said what they meant, and that tended to make fights short and intense. They fought in bright bursts of flame unlike the simmering embers of resentment that were practically Camelot’s status quo.
Merlin still sometimes forgot that he could tell Arthur about magical issues, and that the weight of the world did not rest on his shoulders alone. Arthur still sometimes forgot that Merlin could take care of and think for himself. Both of these casual forgettings were done with the desire to protect, and it was difficult for either of them to stay mad at that.

Summary
Merlin slept for a week after bringing Arthur back from Camlann. Arthur worried Merlin had somehow imparted his own life force into him, draining himself, but Gaius assured him it was most likely just the level of magic Merlin had used that had exhausted him.
Accounts from the area certainly seemed to confirm that story. People had seen a god, or so they said. When Arthur lifted the magic ban, it passed almost without resistance. Whatever Merlin had done, whatever he’d been, people had seen the divine, and known it was magic itself.
When magic itself woke, he told Arthur never to do that to him again, and called him a variety of names for good measure.

When the King is attacked in his tent on patrol and falls into an unending sleep everyone is worried. What they don't know is that Arthur is fine. In fact he is standing right here next to them, watching them all fret over his prone body. To stave off the boredom whilst a cure is found Arthur takes to wandering the castle and soon discovered a hidden side of Camelot he never knew about.
Or: Arthur's soul gets trapped outside his body and takes to following his servant around. He gets an interesting insight into Merlin, his servant's life and just how much Camelot needs the man.

Summary
When will Merlin cease this nonsense? He has mastered the impossible: dragging Arthur feet first down the stairs of Camelot’s class structure until he’d tasted the dirt his poorest people slept on, while still managing to always put Arthur first. It is a contradiction, a contrast Arthur cannot rationalize. But damn it all, he wishes Merlin might try putting himself first for once. If not for Merlin’s own happiness, or their friendship which is the most precious thing Arthur has ever been trusted with, then for the hope-cum-desire that Merlin might one day return his romantic feelings not out of obligation but out of want.
Merlin serves. Serves looks, serves dungeon time, and serves Arthur.
