Did you know that the Spotted Lanternfly's favorite food is the wood of the Ailanthus tree, commonly known as “tree of heaven”?
Alastor, head of the entomology department, knows that he is a devourer, he takes and he feeds and sates whatever his body demands and then he moves on, and he has never felt much remorse about that- life is too short and people are too much work: they always want too much of him.
He doesn’t really understand what he’s done to pique the interest of the school’s new heartthrob professor: Lucifer Morningstar, but that's fine- Lucifer will tire of him once he realizes that Alastor’s only real passion in life is tiny gross things with six or more legs. If only he would stop asking him questions like he actually cares about Alastor’s answer:
"What's your family like?"
“What's with the invasive species obsession?”
TLDR: “People aren’t pets, Alastor. You don’t get to pin them up on your board and watch them squirm."

Summary
Ruby eyes burrow into his cheeks, suddenly heat sinks for the alcohol burning away in his veins and the latent humiliation of his rumpled shirt collar and open slacks. Alastor is hyper aware of the way his hair is sticking to his face, to the way his fur is standing on end and he does not know if its fear, or if this is what arousal is supposed to feel like- all of the little pieces of him reaching for Lucifer like starlight to a black hole.
“I want to fuck you.”
He doesn’t like the way those words taste in his mouth. They don’t belong to him, and anyways, they don’t feel big enough to contain what he means- that he wants to split Lucifer open and reach his claws inside to find the ticking mechanism of his heart.
“....What do you really want?”

Summary
The last time Alastor saw Lucifer Morningstar, his white dress shirt had been plastered to his slim chest with rain and his ruddy cheeks smeared by tears.
The man before him now has laugh lines and a weary shadow lingering behind his blue eyes. Alastor is devastated to discover how badly he wants him, still.
Or, Alastor and Lucifer were college sweethearts before Alastor ended things suddenly and cruelly. When they meet again, nearly twenty years later, Alastor tries to hold onto the man he’s loved this whole time.

“You are something else,” Alastor mutters, his smirk turning kind of deranged as he watches the commotion in the water when an alligator thrashes in it to get to the human meat.
“Oh, darling,” Lucifer huffs, successfully pulling Alastor’s attention to him as he steps into his personal space. He stands on his tip toes until the barrel of the Winchester rests against the center of his forehead. “You don’t know the half of it,” he whispers with confidence, grinning a bit too wide with the slightly too sharp teeth and his eyes might have an unnatural red glow. Risky, putting it in one word.
And yet, he watches as the man’s pupils dilate slightly.

When an attack on the hotel results in Alastor intentionally taking a hit to save Lucifer from some weird, unknown weapon, Lucifer is more confused than ever. Alastor is dying in front of them and no one understands why.
Lucifer is spinning his wheels. Why did the Radio Demon save him? What was that weapon? What secrets is Alastor keeping? Is Hell in danger? Is Lucifer? What is going on!?
