Summary
During the case in Martinaise, Kim can watch Harry bloom into one of many different men. But no matter what forms out there on the sea ice, no matter if Kim trusts that animal or not—still, he can develop fascination, desire.
This is the story about the Kim who would get into the aerostatic with Icebreaker Harry and ride into the sunset as the world burns below. A Kim enchanted by war, by death, by the fictions he's told about himself, and by men like Harry—weak, closeted 'traditionalists' he can use for his own desires.
This story is also very much a "mind the tags" situation. No one is a winner in this story, not even the ghosts.

Elias rolls his eyes, thinking it best not to answer. He instead flicks through his copy of the leaflet, making the conscious decision to read it with his own eyes. The first page is a map of the museum, and the second contains white text laid over a self-portrait of Benjamin, painted sometime between their final meeting and his death in 1857.
“... While his later life saw Earnest’s name become well-known in Victorian society, many of his works, along with his life, from the early 19th century have become something of a mystery- until now,” the leaflet proudly proclaims, “With the help of both his family and the family of Barnabas Bennett - a recurring character in Earnest’s earlier life and many of his paintings - the National Gallery are ecstatic to present these works, alongside long-lost letters and writings, that document the fascinating social circle that the painter became entangled with.” The words make Elias sick to his stomach.

Summary
Now a law school student and an official of a certain Public Safety department, Yu returns to Inaba with the assignment to get Adachi's case out of the legal stalemate. Adachi, who never got a trial or a sentence due to the complicated circumstances of his case, has been stuck in jail for the past 5 years, which took a toll on him physically and mentally. The two deal with private and interpersonal issues as they struggle to make Yu’s plans on prosecuting the case work.

Summary
Yu manages to break through the barrier of Adachi's 6th SL event and keeps progressing the bond without fully realizing why he's so eager to do it. As he hears bits and pieces of the detective's past, finds his ema at the shrine, and learns the reason for the transfer, he also becomes willing to help. But with Adachi, it's way more complicated for Yu to do than with anybody else he met in Inaba. All the more so as he starts having his doubts and suspicions.

It was supposed to be an easy mission with no one coming out injured, but that turned out to be an afterthought.
