She still hopes that her little brother will find happiness again, and the hope she has in her eyes is shattering Peter’s will to complain or find a way to not go to this masquerade. He looks at his two nieces, his nephew, and his daughter and sighs. They all received the same letter. It will be the first time for Cora and Malia since they just turned 18 in human years. They seem to be more excited than the rest of them, which is understandable since it’s new to them.
The pods, that’s what they were invited to. The concept is simple: all single adults have to participate. For two whole weeks, sometimes more depending on the number of invitations, people are locked inside a room and have to meet other participants: speed dating like. But no participants can see who they're meeting.

Se decía que el elemento del fuego se perdió incluso antes de las guerras Serpentine. Sólo el Primer Maestro de Spinjitsu (PMS) sabía lo que ocurrió realmente, pero hacía mucho tiempo, el último Maestro Elemental del Fuego conocido se sacrificó en una gran batalla, sin hijos ni aprendices a los que pasar su poder. Desde entonces, el elemento del fuego no volvió a aparecer en alguien. Se creía que el elemento del fuego fue sacrificado junto a su maestro.
Si existía aún el linaje del último Maestro Elemental del Fuego, hacía ya mucho tiempo que se perdió en el despiadado pasar del tiempo.
Por suerte, las Armas de la Creación daban prestados los poderes elementales a aquellos lo suficientemente fuertes aún sin el elemento apropiado, aunque no tan fuertemente como lo sería con el Maestro Elemental adecuado.
La profecía seguiría aún sin el Maestro Elemental del Fuego. Ninjago aún tenía oportunidad de enfrentarse al señor oscuro que la aterrorizaba desde su creación.
Qué pena que nadie se dio cuenta de que el sacrificio fue sólo temporal y que el fuego sólo estaba esperando el pasar de las generaciones hasta recuperar su fuerza y encontrar a la persona adecuada.

Alright, a brief summary: Derek was given to Stiles as payment for his family's debt Talia could not pay when it was due. He truly expected the worst when being shipped off to a family who had their hand's in every branch of the organized crime from her to San Francisco, despite being led by an eighteen year old boy. He had been given trousers and a collar who would force his new owner's will on him. What good could ever come from that.
But Derek had been given a room, a family and every kind of support he had not even dared to dream of being worth receiving after the fire and Kate's betrayal. In the end, his mother had been able to come up with the money and had offered to buy him back. Stiles had chosen Derek as the messenger to deliver the money to the pack that would not get him as a member. And Derek had chosen.We are starting in the very same night. Let's see how the story continues.

"Can you come home with us?" Freddie asks plaintively, and Stiles hooks a lock of auburn hair behind her ear with a little moue.
"Maybe some other day, chickadee, but, alas, I must return to the other children, as I've heard there are dragons afoot, and I can't leave them unguarded." They both gasp, half delighted, half horrified by the prospect.
"What about us?" Letty whimpers, and Stiles coos a conspiratorial smile.
"Didn't you know? Your uncle's a knight. And the bravest, most fearsome one of all, even the biggest, most terrifying monsters are afraid of him. Why do you think your mother asked him to come pick you up? She knew he would keep you safe, protect you."
They gasp, turning to each other, wide-eyed, awed and with realization dawning, before both girls, like flipping a switch, abruptly become utterly excited and agreeable about the idea of their uncle as a babysitting candidate. Stiles flashes a lop-sided grin over his shoulder at Derek, pleased with his accomplishment, even moreso when he sees the way the man's jaw has dropped.
