He didn’t want to think about it, he always arrived to the same conclusion, he hadn’t lived before Gellert. He had been born the moment their eyes had met for the first time. He had been born again the moment their hands had interlocked in the way to the cemetery and he had breathed in for the first time in front of Peverel’s grave, with Gellert’s mouth against his, the breath of life.His own hands had pulled him closer by the sleeves of his shirt, just in case he’d disappear like a dream or a fae.

Albus Dumbledore always knew how to find Gellert Grindelwald. It wasn’t even an instinct, nor was it any magical connection they shared ( although young Albus sometimes hoped it was,) but no, it was merely observation. Although exceptionally skilled at transmutation and potions, Gellert could wear any face he wanted and still, Albus would recognize him. Because Gellert could change his name, features, pattern of speech, everything. But he couldn’t get rid of his own charisma.
Charisma, that usually affected young boys.

Quickly, Gellert raised his gaze and stared at the group of Muggle children in front of him; now laughing loudly, some of them even pointing at him. Pointing as though he were an animal behind bars, one of the monkeys that his mother and Mr Richter had brought him to see the other week.
How he had wanted to free those animals.This story explores the life of Gellert Grindelwald between the years 1887 and 1899, and is simply a depiction of his early childhood and adolescence, as I imagine it.

The days when he would obsess over every tiny work Wei Ying appeared in are long gone. His days of buying every magazine he was in, of taping his interviews and watching them over and over again just to get a piece of the real him, they’re all over. Lan Zhan doesn’t follow every project Wei Ying is a part of anymore, doesn’t try to find out if Wei Ying ever mentioned him anywhere, and doesn’t keep the TV on just in case he hears Wei Ying’s voice in a new commercial.
He has weeks, and even months, when Wei Ying doesn’t even cross his mind at all. And when he does, it is only with a faded kind of fondness, a simmering affection to the memories they shared together.
He’s happy for the things Wei Ying achieved. There is almost no hurt at all, almost no pain. And almost must be just as good as none.
