"Steve Harrington never says no to anyone."
When he first heard someone say it, he thought maybe it was just a weird way for people to say that Steve was too nice, which made sense to Lucas. Despite the fact he used to be a huge public facing douchebag, Steve was nice. Almost painfully so. Sure he called them shitheads sometimes and argued with them like he was their mom, but he was always there when they needed him and always saving them from the end of the world at the expense of his own physical safety. Steve Harrington was nice, and Lucas thought it was cool that other people were realizing that. But the more he heard that sentence, the more it felt like that wasn’t what anyone was implying. The more he heard it, the more it kind of made Lucas’ skin itch.
Or, the one where Lucas realizes maybe the basketball team isn't where he should be trying to fit in.

Summary
Eddie shuffles closer to him. Knows he shouldn’t, knows he should steer this somewhere neutral, somewhere more distant, something more akin to just checking in on a friend but he can’t, he can’t. Not when Steve’s looking bashful, not when he’s awkwardly picking up a bit of paper again and folding it anxiously, not when he smells like the sea on a summer’s day and honey-sweet all at once.
“Seriously Steve, this is cool. Maybe you could make something for a campaign? Figurines are expensive, and honestly some of these are better. We could paint them, too.”
Steve looks up at him then. Really looks, and Eddie’s heart gallops in his chest at the sight of those warm brown eyes.
“I made them all for you,” Steve murmurs.

Steve had explained the doctors had told him that Eddie would need constant supervision and with Wayne having to pull extra shifts at the plant and their current temporary housing, the two had decided it would be best if Eddie recovered at castle Harrington.

"Part of why he hadn’t come until now was that he didn’t really feel welcome in this tight knitted, trauma bonded group of outcasts, although he was clearly wrong with how the invitations kept coming every week and how happy they all were to see him when he finally showed up. Even Jonathan seemed okay with him being there, and Steve thought that that must mean something. The other reason he hadn’t come was because he simply couldn’t make himself leave the house to go sit in a crowded room filled with loud, rowdy kids."
After the events of season 2, the party decides to throw weakly sunday dinners. Steve hadn't wanted to come until now, and now he was regretting his choice.

Their faces are close, now. Pine and leather wash over Steve again, and stars spark behind his eyes. He staggers a little, and Eddie grabs for his arms. "Whoa, whoa, careful," he murmurs.
"Something's wrong," Steve says shakily. "I don't feel right."
"Come with me, ok? Gotta get you somewhere safe."
Safe. That sounded…really good.
The alpha's arm around his waist is really good too. Awesome, in fact. Steve leans heavily on him, his steps uncoordinated and slow as Eddie leads him away from the river and into the trees.
Briefly, the fact that this unknown alpha could be leading him anywhere crosses Steve's muddled mind. But the thought doesn't linger long - for some reason, deep down in his gut, Eddie feels…safe.

Unexpectedly, Steve presents as an omega. Luckily there's a kind alpha around to take care of him, even if they've only just met...
