Angeal took a moment to answer. “It’s probably better if you go and ask him instead of me.” He chuckled. “Though… I think he would be fine with it. He’s made it clear that he wants to stay with you, and that he’s fine with being your father.”
Sephiroth gripped onto the rail, careful not to leave any dents in it. “You’re right that I should talk to him, but… hm.” It felt immature. Sephiroth wasn’t a child, he shouldn’t be asking childish questions. Even if Vincent has shown to be nothing like Hojo, he didn’t want to push the man away by acting like a child. "

Isolation, as it happened, did not work as atonement. His lack of involvement hadn’t fixed anything.
