Summary
Arthur accompanies his court sorcerer to a Druid Winter Solstice celebration, stepping into an ancient magic he never imagined embracing. As woad marks awaken otherworldly power in Merlin—revealing glimpses of the divine Emrys beneath his friend's familiar face—Arthur confronts the vastness of what he doesn't understand, and what he cannot live without. A quiet night in the woods becomes a turning point in their bond.
Written for the Round Table Gift Exchange 2025.

However, his duty to Albion is not complete, so he must forge on. Almost despite himself, the young warlock embarks on a journey that will redefine his notion of both magic and purpose.

Summary
“It is a connection to family.” She says at some point. “The sight of a Vulcan woman’s hair unconstrained is reserved for mates and familiar relatives only. With the slight constant mental connection between all Vulcans, this is one way of maintaining privacy.”
Kirk smiles lightly. “I bet it must feel nice then, going to visit your family. You get to put your hair down, relax a bit.”
“Vulcans do not feel anything, Captain.” Spock replies.
He is wrong in other ways. She does not correct them.
OR:
Spock has spent her entire life with a physical reminder that she will never be accepted. The Enterprise changes some things.

Summary
“Hi, Jim,” he said to the mirror. “I just wanted you to know, I’m having psychic flashes to an indeterminate point in time and space where we’re really chummy. And I’m a better doctor than I am now. And Spock sometimes smiles, and you’re just as in love with the Enterprise as you always were. It’s nice, but distressing, and I think I might be going crazy.”
AOS Bones travels to TOS Enterprise. He finds the three of them together, older and happier. Friendly, even. He might want something like that, too.
He might get more than he bargained for.

Star Trek Revisited: Rewatching TOS in the 21st Century by PlaidAdder

Summary
A complete series of episode reviews written after re-watching all three seasons of Star Trek (the original series) between 2011-2013. Each review consists of a plot synopsis (rendered as entertaining as possible) followed by analysis/reflection. These reviews were originally posted on LiveJournal. I am crossposting them here, where it is much easier to keep the whole series in one place.
I first became a fan of TOS in the 1980s when I was an adolescent girl. I am now a middle-aged lesbian who, let's say, knows a lot more about gender issues than I did back then. There will be some discussion of same. If you're not interested in gender politics, you might not have a whole lot of fun with these reviews. If you are, though, you may discover that gender in TOS is actually more complicated--a Vulcan might even call it fascinating--than it might at first appear.
I love the show, but I do not love it uncritically. I believe there is much to be learned by asking the question: Exactly why and how did this particular episode get this bad?
Oh, also, I see slash people. But in TOS, believe me, it's there. And not just because we want it to be there, either. Enjoy!
