Reentering society, or whatever counted as society now, felt too abrupt, too overwhelming. She needed the silence. She needed walls. She needed the freedom to move her wrists, flex her fingers, breathe without feeling a collar cinch shut around her throat.
A gift, even if temporary.
1x1 inhaled deeply, staring up at the wooden ceiling. The room was warm in a way that felt unreal, like something from a mortal home, soft and comforting. The quiet settled around her, almost lulling her back toward sleep.
Until—
A knock.
Sharp. Sudden. Too loud in the tranquil room.
The silence shattered.

Hey everyone! As a fan of Die of Death, I've always been fascinated by the twisted and full-of-potential dynamic between Pursuer and Artful. This series of stories is my attempt to explore how two beings so radically opposite—a supreme predator who only understands instinct and a fallen magician trapped in his own guilt—could, against all logic, find a form of comfort in each other.

Artful truly didn't mean it, he wasn't feeling well. he knew that, seeing the faces? the voices? what is happening? he saw his fan, his number one fan smiling at him. yet.. he couldn't remember it. he only get reminded of the bloody event, he didn't mean it.
he was a coward, but he wanted to live. he wanted to stay away, to let them all be safe from him. but destiny had it's tricks, now stuck in an endless game for entertainment, having to kill innocent people- with, with those killers.. Artful tried to Decline, fought for it- but it went worst. he was forced, as a puppet to that thing's amusement. but he slowly got used, an endless daily. at least.. he has someone, even if that someone can eat him alive. some of them weren't so bad.
Artful remembers someone, who was shy and enjoyed his shows before his number one fan. that shy person was his first.. yet they disappeared, leaving Artful with the younger one. yet he failed them too. where was his first? a familiar gaze was on him- yet it wasn't his first who stared at him.

Long ago, there were the five Virtues: Gods and ageless cookies who lived long before the start of Crispia. The virtues were all special, within their own rights. The Virtue of Volition, Knowledge, Change, Happiness, and Solidarity.
But they faded. Broke. Changed into monsters, Beasts that brought nothing but death, harm and fear. And so, they were trapped by the Witches.
And New Virtues—Ancients, rose. The Ancients of Resolution, Truth, Abundance, Passion, and Freedom. But the Ancients suffered, trying to defeat their Beasts, their other halves…
And still Came out victorious.
But with this, came a price for the Beasts. They became weakened. Frail, without the power of the soul jam. Even without half of it, it weakened them.
White Lily noticed this with her own Beast. And while she knew she couldn’t face her past friends and fellow Ancients… She had a plan. A plan to redeem the rest of the Beasts, bring them to their former glory in a different way.
