By 9:14 AM the next morning, he has:

- Proposed marriage to Buck,
_ Emotionally compromised an entire fire engine,
- Held Buck hostage in radiology, and
- Turned a Level 1 Trauma Center into a live studio audience.The thing is, Buck would’ve handled this better if Eddie had:
- NOT proposed marriage in the middle of a gas leak,
- NOT immediately started flirting like a menace,
- NOT weaponized ER paperwork,
- NOT trapped him in a CT room,
- NOT weaponized eye contact,
- NOT somehow become hotter in a hospital gown, and
- NOT had an entire emergency department acting as witnesses.Evan Buckley, is, in a word, doomed.

Eddie Diaz is an intelligent man. A bit slow, sometimes, when it comes to feelings, but he did spend his whole life, until very recently, repressing those troublesome feelings so he gets a pass on this one. Evan Buckley is also an intelligent man. However, Buck prefers to experience his feelings as quickly as possible; imagine a golden retriever on a skateboard hurtling towards heartbreak.
Neither of these men are stupid, but they are a bit dumb, sometimes.
