Summary
Two people dwelled that quaint, quiet cottage. The first was reclined upon a plush bed, chest rising and falling slowly, with downy pillows holding up a tired head. The other was by her side, a chair pulled up close so their fingers might intertwine, familiar and fitting. Two people rested in silence by one another’s side, knowing and accepting and coming to terms.
Two people, but only one soul.
A soul that was, at that serene moment, flickering against the pull of time.

After being freed from Oakhurst, Apo returns home to Cherri. They live out the rest of their days together, promising that, when the time comes, they will die in each other's arms.

Apo was sinking in a cold sea. The current was rushing through her, tearing at her bones. It was coming for her- they wanted to get away, get away-
They were running. They were running but they couldn’t move- it pushed her back- it was burning- she was burning-
She was lunging, blood sprayed and there was screaming- was it hers or theirs- she didn’t know, she didn’t want this- please please please
They ran, away away- blood-soaked wood turned to grass- she had to be quicker, they were right behind her, but the hill was endless- her mouth was moving, anything to make them stop-
~This goes over events from episodes 5 and 6, with some slight divergences. Anything not mentioned please assume happened the same as in canon.

“Vampires aren’t real, Avid,” Scott drawls, a hand on his hip. He looks bored by the whole conversation, and of course he would be. Of course a vampire like him would be so arrogant. “Why are you so certain, anyway? There’s no proof fairy tales like that are real.”
“Because I-“ Avid cuts himself off, tense as a bow string. He trembles, sharp nails digging into his palms as he bites back everything he could say.
‘Because I am one.’

Summary
All of Apo’s thoughts screeched to a halt. What? She looked up from where she’d been staring holes in the ground to see Scott fiddling with one of his cuffs, looking to all the world like he couldn’t care less.
“What? But I thought the whole point of this was-”
Apo was cut off by a wrist in her mouth, the taste of iron on their tongue and a grip which may as well have been made from it on her shoulder.
Looking up at Scott with fury as she struggled to be free of his hold, the man gave as close to a smile as he ever got (none of his expressions reached his eyes. Apo wondered if she should have aimed for them since he never uses them) and spoke; “I can think of a much better use for you, miss military. Drink.”
Or: What if Apo was thralled instead of being turned, and Pyro got a look at some of Cleo's memories when he turned them?

“You’re different now,” Pyro says. “Both of us are different. We don’t belong among the humans anymore. I mean, look at us.” They take her hand, tracing along the pointed claw that used to be her index finger. “How could they ever understand what we’ve been through? What we had to do to survive?”

Apo kills Scott. The humans win, the borders go down, and everyone else gets their happily ever after. Everyone but her.
