Ilya smiled down at Shane and his eyes gleamed with mischief.
"You know, Troy is just a few doors down. We could call him over, make it a little party."
Shane's eyes snapped open only to narrow again as he glared up at Ilya.
“Would you like that?”
“No, I wouldn’t,” Shane snarled.
But his face was screwed up in frustrated pleasure. Ilya hummed thoughtfully and pretended to consider.
“Perhaps we could make it a competition then.”
Shane made an irritated noise and turned his face away. Ilya leaned closer and let his teeth drag down the length of Shane's clenched jaw.
"You want Troy to see how well you take it, or do you want to see if he's better at riding my cock than you are?"
He had been teasing him, pushing at the jealousy that usually made Shane squirm and glare and tell him to shut the fuck up while his traitorous cock twitched and throbbed at how much he secretly liked it.
So when Shane did squirm away from him, Ilya followed automatically, pressing their chests flush together. He thought Shane was playing.
“Get the fuck off me,” Shane spat.

Ilya stepped towards Shane and when he didn’t step back, Ilya took the opportunity to wrap him in his arms.
“I just wanted you to know that it would be okay if you did need to do that.” He wanted to make sure that he said the right thing so that Shane wouldn’t be spooked. He had already fucked this up severely. But even then, Shane deserved to know everything.
“I don’t believe in cheating.” Shane stilled in his arms before he finished with, “I don’t own you Shane.”
Everything in Shane’s face shattered and Ilya knew that despite his attempts he had said something terribly wrong.
Shane turned on his heel and hauled ass out of the bedroom. By the time Ilya could catch up to him, he was gone.
And now Ilya was speeding to Montreal because four days was far too long for comfort.
OR the one where Ilya tells Shane he can see other people and then regrets it.

Summary
After debating if the ache in his stomach was serious enough that he’ll actually vomit, he decides that it is. He leans over and shakes his snoring husband, whispering his name to get his attention.
Ilya is quick to startle awake, wide eyes immediately meeting Shane’s as he sits up, examining his husband to see if he’s okay. He deflates a little when sees no visible injuries on him.
“What is it, lyubimmy?” He asks gently, bringing both hands up to cup Shane’s face, rubbing his thumbs back and forth over his cheeks.
“Think ‘m gonna throw up.” Shane whimpers, eyes fixated on the part of their bed sheets he’s twisting in his fists, embarrassed that he had to wake his husband up over something so childish.
Ilya’s brows furrow in concern, quickly moving to get out of their bed and taking both of Shane’s hands in his to help him out as well.
“Okay, malysh, let’s go sit in front of the toilet, hm?”

“Il…ya” He wheezed, and Ilya lurched forward, barely making it in time to catch Shane as he slid down to the floor.
“Sweetheart, what’s happening, is it panic attack?” Ilya looked horrified, his hands clamoring to press into Shane’s chest in an attempt to ground him.
Shane shook his head, tears springing to his eyes as his throat continued to close in.
“You’re not breathing right.” Ilya said, suddenly noticing the panicked way Shane attempted to inhale, and Shane wanted to just kiss away all the worry in his voice. “Fuck.”
“I…” Shane gasped, the sound all raspy and weak as he inhaled, or rather attempted to, the edges of his vision starting to darken and spin with dizziness as he gazed up at Ilya’s beautiful eyes.
Maybe this is how he was going to die, unable to breathe and clawing at his throat on Zane Boodram's kitchen floor.
Well… at least he was in Ilya’s arms.
Or
Shane, already nervous for his first team hang with the Centaurs, allows himself to finally relax and enjoy the night with his husband by his side, only to run right into trouble when he has an adverse reaction to something unexpected.

The room tilted slightly, and Shane’s throat was raw.
He swayed there a moment, scanning the spinning room for somewhere to steady himself – for Haas or Dykstra. Ilya had been right; he should have slowed down, stayed with his teammates. He hadn't listened, and now he was alone, 2 Moscow Mules and 3 shots deep, stuck at the bar and lost in a sea of people.
Shane just wanted his husband. The alcohol hadn't yet done anything to alleviate the effects of the music and lights that encircled him. He felt trapped – suffocated – like his skin was fusing itself to his stiff muscles. The room spun faster, and the Canadian wasn't convinced he was standing upright anymore. His heart pounded in his ears as the music rattled his ribcage once more, an insatiable itch beckoning his blunt fingernails.
He wanted to scream. He wanted to rip his hair out. He wanted to tear his clothes off.
He wanted Ilya.
“Selfish,” he muttered under his breath, tongue heavy as it touched his teeth.
