Because Ilya can't fathom how dreadful life would be without the option to choose a nice woman to learn to love, if circumstances ever got dire. But Hollander won't have to think of that anymore. Which is nice, of course. Ilya is not a monster. But fuck him.

OR: Shane learned how to lie with his words and stillness. Unfortunately his body speaks a language of its own, and it's one Ilya Rozanov never needed a translator for. As Rozanov lets Shane get away with anything except lying to him, this causes problems until it solves them.
