Summary
The Aregian Empire has invaded Valorian, the head of the Eyeless Priests has died with gouged out eyes intact, and springs of irrational fears have begun to erupt in the populace. Dreams from the point of view of a young girl they never were, the sense of eyes peering through one’s soul, the faint echoes of speech that many have heard but no one has said…

Summary
Flexing my dramatic dialogue muscles.
At a dinner of vampire lords, human serfs present as guests voice their displeasure to the curious Lord Bojan
I have, in fact, written a law code for when a vampire can drink a person, and thought it was a fertile ground for writing characters talking about fictional politics (albeit with some really tilted power dynamics)

Rewrote the introduction of the Darkness Devil to hopefully make the imagery feel more coherent than it did to me and hit harder. I shortened the chapter to just focus on the Darkness Devil itself, but otherwise used the same series of events.
