When you’ve lived through the end of the world, how do you move on?
Rook de Riva never expected there to be an ‘after' to this job. For twenty-two years, Rook was an Antivan Crow by circumstance, not by choice. It seemed like a fair trade. How hard could a prison break be, compared to taking on a couple of gods.
"So is this Calivan contract one of those 'I have to do it myself' things?" she asked casually.
Electricity crackled around them, close enough the hair on Lucanis's arms and neck lifted. Lightning struck the ground, hitting the guards and Calivan in turn. First one round, then another, and a third. The smell of burnt flesh reached his nose and electricity danced on the puddles of standing water that dotted the floor.
Spite appeared in his mirror form on the other side of her. He leaned forward, head tilted as if studying her. "Smells of lavender and lightning," he purred. "Storm beneath the skin." He leaned closer, as if sniffing her. "I LIKE her."
Lucanis tried to ignore him, telling himself it was probably better the demon liked her than the alternative.

Summary
A year of mourning, coalescing with the months spent cutting away the rotting remains of her reputation as the Shrike of Treviso to live as the heroic sidekick to Varric Tethras. Living as the sly-talking, unshakeable Rook is easier; grieving as the calculating, isolated Shrike is unbearable. If what the First Talon says is true, and Lucanis is still alive? She’s not sure which part of her will emerge when she sees him again.
Or: Rook knew Lucanis before she was tasked to save the world. Now, she has to relearn how to know him after he survives the Ossuary.

This will not necessarily follow chronological order, and will feature several spoilers for the main story, Lucanis's personal missions, his romance, and the Crow questline. The second thing Lucanis and Spite agreed on was Rook. How she smelled, how she laughed, how she touched them with care. When they were near her, it was peace. She teased them both with sweet words laced in mischief, and they both realized that it is possible to want something more than revenge.
The third thing they agreed on was coffee. Because coffee is life.

Looking for a Lucanis fic with WAY more longing and tension and payoff than the game gave us?
Lucanis never forgot the beautiful woman he saw with Illario on the night that turned his world upside down, never forgot the inexplicable feeling that their fates were tied up together. When destiny finally brought them together, he found it impossible to escape the unfamiliar feelings she inspired in him... and in Spite. It felt impossible that someone who had once fallen for his charming cousin could ever be interested in him, broken as he was.
Aurelia always knew she'd meet the Demon of Vyrantium, knew there was some sort of string tying them to each other, even after his cousin dashed her hopes and led to her getting sent away from Antiva. When her quest to save the world brought him to her, she knew that all her former interest in his cousin was a shadow compared to what she was capable of feeling. But would his loyalty to his family make it impossible for him to ever care for her in return?
This will be a slow burn, angsty romance with fluff and all the longing and "almosts" your heart could wish for. Some added context: Rook has dated Illario in the past, and Spite has feelings for Rook too.
