Asa chased down his last bit of wine, face much deeper in its shade of pink now. “Ah, um…” His breaths hitched again and his heart thundered against his ribs. Anthony was already refilling the glass in his hand and topping up his own. All Asa could do was laugh nervously and hope Anthony didn’t think him a prude.

This was when Aziraphale paused, a sound of shuffling catching his attention. Oh, blast it all, can’t an angel get any peace?
Sighing quite heavily with the weight of millenia of interruptions, the angel stood and removed his gloves and spectacles before he picked up the gramophone needle, halting the sweet sounds of Shostakovich. Sorry, old chap.
“We’re closed,” Aziraphale chimed out, eyes flicking about in search of the source of the sound. “Can’t you read the sign?” he huffed as he marched off, quite determined to get back to his precious reading session as soon as possible.
However, he paused and rolled his eyes when he saw a flash of red and black dart between the bookshelves.
“Now really, dear boy, this isn’t funny!” He set off once more. “Crowley!”
OR:
After a rude interruption to one of his reading sessions, Aziraphale finds himself in Wonderland. He gets more than he bargained for and ends up pinned with the responsibility of saving Wonderland from certain destruction. Will he stay and help, or run due to his anxieties? Only time will tell.

Asa tugged at his collar before he sipped the water again, trying to regain his composure. “So, why don’t you tell me a bit more about yourself. Where did you grow up? I can’t help but notice the… the accent. Scottish, right?”
Holding his hands up in mock surrender, Anthony playfully replied, “Ah, you caught me. For my sins, yes, I’m Scottish.”
Immediately Asa cursed himself internally for phrasing it that way. Of course he’s Scottish, you idiot. That’s like pointing out he was ginger. Anyone could pick that up.

Summary
Before the thought could fully form in his head, Aziraphale’s attention was taken by the sounds of strong footsteps followed by the stumbling shuffles of another. Him and the other angels watched the far entrance and a ripple of gasps filled the room.
No. It couldn’t be.
Aziraphale’s entire body went cold as he stared in abject horror. His world felt like it had stopped, crumbling around his ears. His heart dropped into his stomach and every hair stood on end. Chest barely rising and falling, he found himself unable to take a full breath in. The air was dense, cloying, close. He was suffocating.
OR:
There is a traitor in Heaven's ranks. Aziraphale is horrified to learn who it is and ends up watching his friend, Kokabiel get cast down to Hell. He doesn't take it well, and through a series of questions, begging and some threats, ends up punished by the Almighty. However, he's surprised when he gets tasked to guard Eden's Eastern Gate and someone familiar shows up. Is it fate or just ineffable?
An angsty short story about Aziraphale's reaction to Crowley's fall.
