Summary
Draco shifts his head as he turns to look at Scorpius, his cheek touching the pillow. "Did you know that…" He pauses, his throat convulsing, and it sounds audible in the silence, besides Michael's steady, even breathing from the other bedroom.
Scorpius is staring back at him, in wait of something new to learn, a beautiful and intelligent child. He has Draco's mind. He has Draco's eyes and nose and mouth and hair. He is his. All his. All he has of Michael are his wild curls and the green of his eyes, and sometimes he looks into them and imagines that they aren't Michael's, but someone else's.
Draco leans his head closer, biting the quiver out of his lips before he breathes a laden and shuddering exhale, and he whispers, "You are my star in a big black sky."

“How do you know it’s mine?” The question is out of his mouth before Harry can think better of it, and he immediately regrets it because of the way Malfoy’s face shutters, turns cold.

This is the first of a series of essays I wish to write on the Gender Politics of Sherlock fandom. There are many things I wanted to say at the official panel but was unable to, since it was derailed by a group of individuals who showed up with the intention of intimidating and harassing the panel moderator. In future essays, I’d like to share my thoughts on femslash, Mary Sues and the fridging of female characters, on heteronormativity in slash, and on queer representation beyond slash (bisexual, pansexual, asexual and trans people in fanworks and fan spaces). I’d like to touch on race and being a queer Woman of Color in a fandom mostly interested in White male characters.
Before I get to those subjects, however, I feel a need to return to the original intended topic: the essay I began writing on my phone on the plane.
And that essay is on the subject of noncon fanworks.

Tony is older and him and Pete has been together for a few years now, Tony slowly starts showing signs of Alzheimer’s (let’s say he’s in his late 50’s, early 60’s) and it starts off small like forgetting where he put the remote or where he is when he wakes up. Then it starts getting worse like forgetting Peter’s name or forgetting who he was and it finally reaches the point where Tony doesn’t even remember what he looks like or that he’s even married to Peter.
