Lance should have known that nothing was going to go his way, from the moment of that failed simulation, the whole “bonding” thing, Pidge saying some weird alien chatter stuff about some “Voltron” and then to add even more icing to the cake, Takashi Shirogane alive after crashing some alien ship near Garrison and then subsequently saving him and now stuck inside in some rusty, close to falling apart, cabin waiting for Shirogane to wake up.
Actually, scratch that.
He should have known everything was going off the rails the moment he saw those dreaded two lines from the white device that came in a (super misleading!) blue box.
Because there is definitely nothing worse than being a fugitive than being a pregnant fugitive.
Everything becomes harder when Lance finds out he is pregnant. Vowing not to cause trouble for said baby, Lance suddenly finds himself in space. Part of an intergalactic war, Lance has a duty—both as a Paladin of Voltron and... as the father of his unborn baby.

Josh nods quickly, too quickly for it to be genuine, nonchalant, and turns his head away. The moonlight no longer catches on the side of his face as he does this, bathing it entirely in darkness so that the only things Vik can make out are the various hues of greys and blacks that his eyes have adjusted to.
He sounds rattled, as if the very core of him is off-centre just enough to send him spiralling, “yeah, yeah, I’m all good. Just…”
A heavy beat of impeding, suffocating silence. A silence in which Vik’s heart pounds to the steady mantra of: c’mon, Josh, open up to me. Tell me what’s wrong. Let me help you.
“...I’m alright,” he deflects. Like always.

Ethan’s eyes narrow, and when Josh finally looks up to meet his gaze with this horrible vulnerability, he asks, “not allowed to what?”
“To feel this way.”
“Why?”
Josh shrugs, and the movement is awkward and half-hearted, embarrassed. The warmth of Ethan’s body next to his feels almost stifling now, “because I’m the oldest? It’s my job to look after you guys-” he turns his head away, “-looking after me is nobody’s job.”
And he says it as if it explains everything. But it doesn’t. It explains nothing.

Kise is known for being overwhelmingly cheerful and extraordinarily emotional. He's incredibly popular amongst girls because he's a model and just as disliked by guys - also, because he's a model. He smiles all the time, can be immature and loud, and people more often than not find him annoying.
Kise is also a tired boy, who spent his entire life trying to please those around him, in order to keep them close. Even at cost of his own emotional well-being and with way too much effort on his part, all the while receiving less than a tiny fraction of the same in return. The opposite, actually.
He has issues and insecurities and fears, and he never let's anybody see it.
Kise is known for being overwhelmingly cheerful and extraordinarily emotional. And one day he finally gets terribly overwhelmed by his own pent up emotions and almost does something irreversible. Almost.
Instead, he let's go of the facade and stops trying to be someone he's not, because - in the end - it's not enough. Not even to the people he thought were his dearest friends. He is not enough and, clearly, never will be.
