Summary
Jaina's a PhD student trying not to feel too bitter about being alone for the holidays. Sylvanas is a vampire a little frustrated that the hunter she intended to drain is actually just a rather naive human.
But when Jaina sees the opportunity to have a - companion - around for the Christmas break, she decides to defy all known logic and invite her would be killer to stay for the holiday. In exchange for Sylvanas' somewhat... lacking company, she'll offer up a steady supply of blood and access to her Netflix subscription.
What could possibly go wrong?

Jaina Proudmoore - Heir to the Admiral Fleet, established Tide Sage, and the biggest loss to the Kirin Tor since it's founding - was keen to volunteer in a cultural skills exchange with the Quel'Thalssian military, Kul Tiras' latest ally. Their land military was in shambles, and the elves had virtually no concept of a functioning navy. All things considered, it should be rather straightforward.
But the threat of something deep in the ocean looms - and the Daughter of the Sea must be prepared to face it.

Jaina's been living a pretty sub-par life so far, all things considered.
So after another bad shift at the diner, she shouldn't really be surprised when a truck comes hurtling into the pedestrian crossing. Still, it's a bit of a culture shock when she wakes up on Azeroth, rather than in the hospital or the morgue.
Even worse, they think she's a Horde spy - one that's taken the Lord Admiral's face, and won't change her ridiculous story no matter what.And Sylvanas? Well, it's bad enough letting the Alliance have one Jaina Proudmoore; she's certainly not going to let them have two.

No longer herself, only vaguely recognizable as a quel’dorei: Elongated, distorted, faintly blurred at the edges where she lost control of the shape again. Her skin purpled and bruised, her hair ashen and limp, her eyes red. “What are you doing here?”
The woman flinched, dropping the shirts in her hands, but recovered quickly. “Hello! Have you seen a seal skin?”

Behind the quiet life Jaina's built for herself, a life she knows cannot last, the plots and machinations of the powerful move Azeroth closer to disaster. The Second War might be over and the Dark Portal sealed shut, but some things that slipped through had never quite left.

Quel'Thalas drove back Arthas once, but not without dire consequence. Sylvanas is a stark reminder of that, as much as the general elven population and her family try to pretend otherwise. Stifled in a crowded houshold, amongst a family she struggles to feel a part of, Sylvanas finds respite in restoring an old, decomissioned ranger waystation out in the wilderness of Eversong Forest. Hoping the project will provide her with some semblance of purpose- and perhaps the solitude and tranquility to begin working through her trauma- her wishful thinking is short lived when she discovers that the property comes with a very unwelcome stray.

That introduction, as inconsequential as Jaina intended for it to be, sets both their lives on a course that feels too perfect for either of them to believe. But Sylvanas has a secret. Sylvanas has so many secrets. Skeletons in her closet that haunt her even now. Even as far away as she's run.

Three years after the dissolution of the Horde and the disappearance of their Warchief, Azeroth has finally reached a tentative peace. Jaina's arrival in Dalaran should have been a two-day trip discussing a trade of knowledge between the Tidesages and the Kirin Tor, but instead, Jaina finds herself caught up in the drama of the Windrunner sisters.
A misadventure which seems to have strong implications about the Light, the Void, and how far should one go for the people they love.

It is a pen pal match made if not in Hell, then definitely at some tavern by one of the side roads to Hell.
Pre-Third War, Jaina is on a (permanent) break with Arthas and Sylvanas has Issues, so they exchange letters and get stupid with each other.
