Summary
Kakashi's tether to his soulmate is a skin-writing bond. This means that his soulmate's thoughts appear as ink on his skin, and the closer their bond gets, the more the ink spreads.
The problem is that every word shared through their bond is an insult, and even though Kakashi has no interest in finding his soulmate, nothing short of death can sever their ties.
He met his bonded, they don't like him, and now, he has to live with that.
OR:
Kakashi and Obito are soulmates. Neither of them knows, but maybe they should.

Summary
He had never known real affection between a family until he had met Team Seven. The closest he had to something of a family besides them was Gai. Even his own Team kept a distance more so out of respect for his boundaries than because he wanted to. Here, though, with Team Seven maybe that was the issue? Rin and Obito got along with Naruto just fine, the former reaching out to play with Naruto’s hands as Minato-sensei served everyone their meal. Obito had openly shown his affection and got along with Naruto, treating him as his little brother. It was only Kakashi who struggled with getting to properly know the baby.
It wasn’t fair.
How could Minato-sensei be so casual about this? Why could he and Obito be so free with touching Naruto when he himself struggled?
Part of it was him. He was unused to affection and unused to a baby. Part of it was also because he was away the most out of all of Team Seven, his role in ANBU sometimes keeping him out of Konoha for weeks at a time. And maybe that was why he wasn’t used to Naruto?

Or, a story in which a touch-averse teenage ANBU Kakashi bonds with playful Baby Naruto.
