Dick Grayson is sixteen and in desperate need of a parent. Three months ago, this would have been an emotional, and perhaps slightly awkward, conversation with Bruce. But then, three months ago, this would never have been an issue. Now, he needs an adult, and normally this wouldn’t be that hard, but for the fact that he needs that adult to not go running to Batman. He’s a bit short on those. Fortunately not completely out, but the one name he might be able to call… well, this will be an entirely different emotional and slightly awkward conversation.

Summary
For as long as Dean could remember, his little brother had had nightmares. There might’ve been a time early on – before their lives changed, before Mom was taken away, before everything – when Sammy slept through the night, but it was so long ago Dean couldn’t remember anymore. Now, it’s just a fact of life. The sky is blue. The grass is green. The Impala is amazing. And Sam has nightmares.
But what happens when it starts to look like those nightmares might be more than just nightmares? As Sam and Dean set out together to try and find their missing father, they’re going to find themselves on an entirely different path. One that’s going to test their brotherhood to its very limits. When Sam’s powers start to kick in, and his nightmares grow worse, and they find themselves caught up in a grudge match as old as time itself, the only thing they can do is cling on to one another and try to face head on what’s coming for them. Maybe, with the help of a few old friends, and some surprise new ones, they might just make it through.

“I’m suggesting we watch the preview before we buy the movie,” Dean snarked.
Castiel’s look of confusion only deepened and, for once, Sam was right there with him. “…You know, skip a few chapters in the book. Check out the dessert menu before ordering dinner. I mean, if Zachariah can show us where the future’s heading, why not Cas?”
Dean's not thrilled about Sam's plan to say, "Yes," to the Devil and spend an eternity in the pit, so he proposes taking a road trip 15 years in the future to see how it all works out in the aftermath of the Apocalypse.
Sam had thought he was prepared for what awaited him in the future, but a pregnant fiancé, a human Castiel, and a married Dean were more than he'd been expecting.
