An incident occurred near the Waynes, and while they are confident in their abilities to protect themselves, they need to keep up appearances and hire a bodyguard.
Enter Danny Fenton.In the doorway stood three skinny young people who looked to be just out of their teens. Two of them looked nearly identical. They must be siblings. They were all dressed in civvies and had no visible weapons on them. Good, Bruce requested no guns.
"Hi! You called Fenton-Foley Protection Services? We're the Fentons, we" one of the boys waves to himself and the nearly identical girl, "handle the physical protection and Foley will handle your cyber protection."

Summary
Tim doesn't sleep much, and as a result he hallucinates sometimes. He keeps hallucinating a pair of green eyes in the dark.
At the same time he struggles with his place in the fractured batfamily, and tries chasing the Red Hood, who surely is completely unrelated to these green eyes he keeps seeing... right?cue kidnappings, bad decisions, and a whole lot of food!
a bit angsty, but with a happy ending because i REFUSE to write sad ones. title is from "people got a lotta nerve" by neko case :)

The kid went by ‘Danny Phantom’. The next file was where things got interesting. A corrupted blood sample analysis had been put through the computers, where, along with a whole host of unknown compounds and chemicals, the DNA pinged several alleles, proving a potential familial match. A familial match to him.
It couldn’t be. No.
But the boy looked to be about the same age as he would have been, after Jason did a quick bit of mental math. But the hair and eyes were all wrong.

Danny would like to say for the record that it was not his fault.
In fact, Danny would say that it was entirely Clockwork's fault. After all, he wouldn't even be in this situation if it wasn't for that cryptic time god.
But what was his fault was the fact that he kept helping.
He kept taking the cash from the assholes messing with the residents who lived in the area (and damn there were a lot of assholes near where he lived). He kept accepting their offers of food. So because of this new routine that kept him able to afford to rent out his shitty (and possibly illegal) apartment and the hunger pangs sufficiently satisfied, rumors grew.
tldr; after Clockwork dropped of Danny in Gotham he tries to make the best out of the situation which includes helping out some people. Except along the way that led to rumors that he was an up-and-coming crime boss. A rumor he was largely unaware of.

Danny stared at the portal, mesmerized by its glow. His hand tightening around the navy blue duffel at his side—he'd packed clothes, food, ecto-weapons, some stim toys to fidget with, and not much else. He didn't need anything that would tempt him return.
This was the right choice, he reminded himself. He needed to protect them, even if leaving hurt more than a high caliber ectoblast fired directly at his chest, even if he could hear his core whisper stay protect family home safe.
He took a step, then a second. He was close enough to reach out his fingers and touch it now. A third. His hair rustled in the breeze whispering in from the other side. Another. He could almost taste the ectoplasm in the air, a hint of ozone, the beginnings of a thunderstorm. The hairs on the back of his neck stood on end. This was it.
He dove in head-first.

(His firstborn son. His resurrected son. His ‘trained in the League of Shadows to become a perfect killing machine’ son. Bruce was not one to believe in coincidences, but this was just absurd.)

Or: An art exhibition ends with Poison Ivy attacking a research facility and Danny getting caught in the crossfire. Bruce takes this opportunity to find out more about his firstborn son, but getting answers out of Danny is like chasing ghosts.

Amity Park doesn't exist. That's the official line.
On the surface, it would appear that Amity Park truly didn't. But the more Batman digs, the less true that seems. You add the fact that there's an unconscious teenager in the Batcave's Medbay that begged for his help and Batman smells a coverup. Amity Park may not exist on paper, but Batman won't let that stop him from saving it.
Tucker's on his last legs. The escape out of Amity took everything he had and of all the places to land in, he finds himself in Gotham. Through a bit of creative hacking and desperation, he manages to find the reclusive Batman, only to babble about needing help and passing out at the man's feet. He just has to convince Batman that ghosts exist and that his entire town is in danger. Easy, right?

Nightwing finds Red Hood on a rooftop. It's been a long night, but it might be looking up. After all, finally capturing the Red Hood will make Gotham that much safer.

He stays around enough to be counted as present.
He engages enough to be counted as useful.

The rules of being a Drake-Wayne are much the same.
It's been a hard lesson, but Tim understands his relationship to the Waynes quite well.
…The only problem is that they still don't seem to understand—which is pretty frustrating, given that they're the very ones who necessitated setting up the current rules of engagement. And Bruce is really a little young to have such a spotty memory already.
Still, the teenaged CEO of Wayne Enterprises is nothing if not a dutiful son, so if Bruce keeps pressing him for answers, well…Tim juuust might have to oblige.

After his parents react poorly to his reveal, Danny escapes to the only person he thinks can help him - Bruce Wayne. He doesn't know what to expect when he gets there, but it has to be better than where he is, surely? He certainly doesn't expect to be reunited with his long lost twin brother Damian. It's funny how things work out that way.

Danny Fenton is trying to build a new life in Gotham after closing up the connections to the Ghost Zone. Not that all connections are entirely broken, still being able to perceive shades and give them strength when he connects to one of their prized objects.
Tim Drake is trying to find his own place in the world, focusing on becoming a better detective by solving cold cases in his spare time.
When Tim and Danny meet, a new (begrudging) partnership starts to bloom to solve even the hardest of cases. Or it would if only they told each other the truth.
