I hate how Bruce Wayne is depicted in the comics. When it comes to interactions with his kids, he sometimes seems more gentle and concerned about his villains, and don’t get me started on how writers tend to hate Jason Todd or the Robins in general. So I'll try to depict how I believe Bruce would be, yes he is a traumatized man, but just showing that he used his trauma to give better than what he got should be enough to think, “Oh, he wanted to avoid more children to end up like him, that means he also would try to give real parental love to his children” because Alfred is not as good as he is normally depicted in fan fiction his negligence made Bruce what he is now, sadly I’ll show that negligent side of him, and his growth principally in his relationship with Dick (as all grandparents do, they become better with their grandchildren, at least when they are young), so lots of ooc and some angst, if it's a turn down for you don't read it.Series

Summary

Bruce sees so much of himself in the boy, but doesn’t know how to raise him right, and without Alfred he’d be hopeless. Bruce, vowing that Dick won’t share his own fate, instead decides to seek justice on his ward’s behalf. The mystery of who murdered the Graysons keeps both boy and vigilante on the hunt for the killer, though Bruce tries to keep Dick out of it. Stranger still is the looming feeling that their murders weren’t entirely senseless.
Features mystery/noir elements, as well as some fluffy silliness. Takes place right after The Batman 2022.

Bruce feels his heart lurch in his chest. The ground seems very, very far away, “Dick."
“Bruce,” Dick replies easily, smiling something sad and faint, “Don't be scared. Falling is half the fun.”
(Bruce teaches Robin how to use a grapple, and Dick teaches Batman how to fly.)

She lifts her gaze to fix on him instead, hateful.
She raises one hand, fingers curled around the bloodied wounds the glass left in her palm, to point at him. “I see your fate too,” she spits, voice rising above the roar of water and wind and rain and the crashing sea outside. “I know that it will be you that kills him.”
And her hand jerks to point at Dick where he peeks out from behind Bruce’s cape.

*Takes place after the events of The Batman movie
I could claim that an unholy spirit possessed me to sit next to a child who just witnessed his parents be brutally murdered, but I know that isn't the case. It was magnetism, like how a compass always points north I knew I needed to be right here. He was a north star in need of someone--anyone--to follow him before he lost himself in the cosmos. When he looks up at me I confirm my suspicion: in his eyes I could recognize the very same vengeance I was trying so hard to control.
or; Dick Grayson has just lost everything; his parents, his Circus troupe, and his own self worth. Batman is just too late to save Martha and John Grayson, but Bruce Wayne is exactly where he needs to be. We see Bruce's conviction to be more than vengeance play out when a broken child becomes his responsibility. Bruce has to not only look after Dick but mentor him off a path he knows all too well. BatCat returns as Selina Kyle comes back to town and investigates her own case. Who is behind the cowl? Unfortunately for her she knows all too well that curiosity killed the cat, if she's lucky satisfaction will bring her back.

Summary
About three months after the flood, Gotham is being held together by duct tape and Batman's sheer willpower. The expected power struggle in the criminal element is still in full force thanks to Maroni's release. There are whispers among the criminal element of a new player looking to seize control.
Somehow that all falls to a lower priority for Batman with an anonymous message about a cat and a search of Selina's Bludhaven apartment that reveals two important things:
1) Selina is missing.
2) Apparently her "thing for strays" extends to small children.
Or: How three people tormented by grief and hardship become a family.
