The novelty of being dead fades quickly, and watching over his companions soon fills him with grief and guilt. Oddly, a faint flicker of hope arises in the form of his youngest kinsman, a Dwarf of Durin's line with bright red hair.

Fortunately Javert is more than willing to aid him in giving the newlyweds a taste of their own medicine.
Written for the kinkmeme: Javert/Valjean, Cosette/Marius. Thin walls lead to one pairing overhearing the others sexytime roleplaying, who then decide to reciprocate in an attempt to scar the other for life.

Summary
It is difficult to breathe. The warm, omega scent that permeates the mayor's office, comforting only moments before, is now damning, and Javert feels frozen, stiff with both dumb shock and outrage. The alpha side of him uncurls, angry and rattled at being upended out of control, and he takes in a sharp breath between gritted teeth, a low hiss that makes Valjean narrow his eyes and draw himself up to his full height.

As Javert sinks ever deeper into delirium, both of them are forced to be honest about the long-buried feelings that now resurface from the depths of Toulon. Valjean must piece by piece let go of his comfortable life as Madeleine in a desperate attempt to save his guard... and the man in Arras, who faces the death penalty in Valjean's name.
How much is Valjean willing to sacrifice to save innocent lives? Can Javert stay alive long enough to save Valjean in return? In the end, do any of them even have a future?
