Summary
Steve is struggling with nightmares post-Vecna. He needs someone to talk to, but he gets too in his head about not wanted to worry anyone. He knows that everyone else is going through their own shit, and it doesn't feel fair to burden anyone with his own anxiety issues. On a walk to clear his head after a bad dream, he runs into none other than Eddie Munson. Sure, the two of them had definitely gotten closer while they were saving the world, but something about this run-in with Eddie seems different. It makes Steve feel things he hadn't felt since Nancy. After saving the world, you would think Steve would be able to handle anything. But his sexuality crisis and newfound feelings for Eddie is something way more confusing and daunting than the Upside Down had ever been.

After the Battle of Starcourt, you took some time away - tried to shake it off. And it worked. You were over him... at least, you thought you were. But things are feeling weird again in Hawkins, Indiana, and the familiar scene of otherworldly horror and gore has your heart picking right up where it left off. This is familiar territory.
But there's a new face in the mix. Another big-haired boy has your gaze slipping from the one you've loved for so long. Though now, when you glance at Steve out the corner of your eye, you're finding his gaze already on you. It keeps happening, more and more. Why do you feel like you're dancing on a very thin line? Why does it scare you more than Vecna ever could? They say it takes two to tango, but what do you call a dance for three?

“Amy-” Steve started when Kathy’s scream cut him off.
They turned to look at her, Ms. Hammon was biting into her cheek, the skin stretched as the teacher pulled away blood pouring down Kathy's face. Ben stumbled back and Hargrove shoved Ethan away. Steve reeled away tripping over Amy’s bag landing on his ass with a startled gasp, more screams came from down the hall and Steve shook his head, it had to be another nightmare. This couldn't be real!
The girls were still screaming and Ben joined them as Ethan grabbed hold of his shoe and bit down on his ankle; Billy used the heel of his boot to stomp down on Ethan’s head. It didn't sound any different from stomping on the hardwood floor at first, but by the third stomp it had Steve’s stomach rolling, sounding more like a just ripe watermelon. Turning to look away from the gore Steve watched as Ms. Hammon left a bloody trail from Kathy's unmoving body staggering toward Billy with an outstretched hand.
