Tommy liked being a ghost. He’d been one his whole life.
Today, when Tommy wakes up it marks six months of being seen. Six months without flying.
Six months since he’d taken his riskiest job of all. Killing King Philza of the Arctic Empire.Most people trap a wild bird and throw it into a pretty gilded cage for the rest of their life. Tommy thinks, as the arctic air turns his fingers blue and bites so painfully against his skin it feels raw, that there is nothing beautiful about this.
-or, a fic where Tommy is pretty content with dying when he's brought to his knees in the palace of the Arctic Empire. The last thing he expects is the King to offer him an opportunity instead.

“What the fuck are you two doing here?” Tommy snaps, standing quickly. He looks around the hallway, as though checking for any enemies.
“Uhm, saving you. Mate, what does it look like?” Phil wheezes, clearly relieved to see the three of them are okay. Techno’s feeling a similar kind of relief. His guilt and nerves are melting away, replaced by gratitude that Tommy seems to be walking alright and Tubbo and Ranboo don’t look like they have more than a couple scratches on them.
“Saving us?” Tubbo questions with a frown and looks to Tommy with curiosity. Tommy pinches the bridge of his nose.
