Shadow Milk remained motionless. Tilting his face with exaggerated slowness just to whine, “I am not a child.”
“Then stop acting like one,” Pure Vanilla replied, remaining calm.

Shadow Milk is sick. Pure Vanilla happily steps in as caretaker.

How long can a lie remain a lie before it becomes a justification to linger? For how long can one lie about motivations before the lie becomes their truth?
Shadow Milk Cookie makes good on his threat that Pure Vanilla Cookie's kindness will be his undoing. He arrives in the Vanilla kingdom asking for help, lying that his followers have turned on him and his magic is gone. This lie wraps him up in itself until he is completely enmeshed, unable to tell where the lie ends, and where his true motivations begin. That lie becomes an excuse to linger.

One day while Pure Vanilla looks through the blueberry academy library he finds a diary written by the founder of the school, vanilla being well... himself, reads through the book feeling closer and closer to the author.
Meanwhile Shadow Milk gets bored of sitting and waiting in the spire and decides to spy on his favorite puppet, only to discover in horror that he is reading HIS OLD (apparently still intact) DIARY!!!
Turns out that situation brings some interesting opportunities to the both of them. -

I can’t… won’t let me get tricked again. I open a portal and walk through, turning around just in time to spit back a response. “Tah-tah, Vanilly!” The portal closes and I’m alone again. Perfection.

The room is too bright.
It’s quaint, in a nauseating sort of way. Polished floors glint from the gleaming honeycomb chandeliers overhead, make him squint. A few vases sprinkled here and there, filling the room with a sickeningly sweet scent – even a waffle-cone headrest framing the silken sheets of a neatly-tucked bed. Outside, the golden sun gleams, the gentle rays of light spilling past curtains that waver in the afternoon breeze.
It's meant to be beautiful. Luxurious. Welcoming.
With one sweep of his cane, Shadow Milk tears it apart.
