The threat only weighed down the heavy atmosphere more. Dazai hasn't necessarily killed since he made that promise to Odasaku, but not killing was never a specific part of the promise to begin with. Out of every act of violence Odasaku would condone, protecting Atsushi wouldn't even need to be discussed.
Or: An unknown ability user is causing havoc within the Port Mafia, so they request the help of the ADA. Dazai and Atsushi go to investigate, but instead get caught up in the ability that’s taken out so many. Akutagawa and Chuuya are not amused.

Yes, that had been the message he’d gotten, early that morning. That they were gone, and that only one of them could make it out alive. His partner or his mentee. They told him to choose, to get his answer in by midnight. His answer was fuck no. He was saving both of them, and if the whole world had to burn down for him to do so, then so be it.
“Leave now, or we kill the executive,” the man's voice turned sour, his eyes narrowing through the grin still disgustingly plastered across his face, twisting his cheeks in a grotesque manner. He wanted to rip that grin right off of his face.

.Somebody kidnaps Atsushi and Chuuya, Dazai will do absolutely anything to get them both back, even if it means going back to the world of darkness he'd tried so hard to leave.
