Of course the Hogake and council underestimated the fundamental breaks in Kakashi's psyche. His guilt complex ran rampant seeing what amounted to the reincarnation of his old team with some added features. He was going to turn his babysitting job into a crash course into becoming the best ninja he could produce, nothing was going to hurt his adorable little genin.

Happy Birthday, Hinata.
I gotta be honest, even for a conservative NaruHina church member myself, The Last, as a movie, just left me unsatisfied. Not even the kiss at the end made it worth rewatching for me. Over time, I just understood that, the reason why this movie, in hindsight, didn't sit right with me, was because for a few reasons:
1. Hinata being reduced to a damsel in distress. For a THIRD TIME. One time was excuseable, the other two, big nope from me.
2. The movie essentially introduced the Otsutsuki clan, aka, the worst narrative mistake to ever grace this IP. Hence why, in this rewrite, the Tenseigan is not locked behind the Otsutsuki DNA. You can achieve it, with the chakra of the Sage of the Six Paths.
3. The Hyuga clan, as a whole, as part of the narrative, was completely shat on in Shippuden. All resolved off-screen, with Neji dying, for freaking nothing, other than cheap shock value. Not going to happen in this household.
Hence, I wrote it, so that not everything has to hinge solely on Naruto. Hinata can save the world too, every once in a while. She sure did for many of us, growing up.

Caitlyn seeks redemption for the damage she's done, Vi takes stock of all she's lost and what she has left, Jinx has the chance to decide who she wants to be, Sevika could use a drink, and Ekko is really happy that Vi's alive and really sad about basically everything else.
Potentially a springboard for a larger set of stories concerning the future of Piltover and Zaun, the war with Noxus, and more.

In those months, a girl shows her a kind of care she never had in the Lanes. It’s a weird feeling, scary even as it gets stronger, but it’s not exactly a terrible one.
