It’s overtaken his life; he’s become overwhelmingly distracted with it, worrying about when it will happen next, if Zoro is nearby, whether or not it has finally died down at all (it has yet to… not even once). The mere sight of the mossy deposits just floods him with the image of Zoro’s mossy hair, and his feelings slam into him tenfold every time.
He couldn’t accept that his feelings would never go away, though, because that meant really and truly he had no other choice but to just die.
And how ironic would it be for love, the thing he lives for, to be the thing that kills him?

Summary
You stumble back into the girls’ quarters after a night of drinking and your chest aches. You think it’s just mental at first, but then you get the irresistible urge to cough. You try to hold it back but you find that you can’t. You muffle yourself by coughing into your hand, feeling something gross crawling its way up your throat. You quickly make your way to the bathroom, expecting a gross wad of snot, but what you hack up into the sink is... a pink petal. It’s covered in mucus, of course, but it’s definitely a petal. Bruised and wilted, it sits damningly in the sink.

Summary
Following your unsuccessful murder of Whitebeard, you loose the only place you'd ever called home. Amidst the tempestuous seas you find a new place to call your own. Between raucous pirates and an idiot made of flames, while reluctant, its a life you come to enjoy. The journey is nowhere short of hardship, complications, and the occasional running for your life from marines. But your life aboard the Moby Dick takes a dive into treacherous waters when feelings begin to bloom for a man who can rarely stay awake while eating his food.
(I dunno, I keep writing synopsis and thinking they're cringe. Tldr; reader joins the Whitebeard Pirates; shenanigans ensue.)

A gunshot cracks out, like a losing battle cry, and then, all is plunged into a heavy silence. There are no birds that sing now, no crickets that chirp and call out to one another.
The fire before you crackles and the wind blows. Your hand comes up to your face, and you sigh deeply, your shoulders falling.
“Things went to utter shit, didn’t they?”
Arthur hums dejectedly at your side as your grimy fingers fall away from your face, your eyes now set out and unfocused on the expanse of woods ahead of you both.
Since Cornwall’s death, the fine line between myths and humans was crossed in a way that neither side would accept. The humans, they were terrified, thinking Cornwall’s murder was the start to what they now call the Second War.
Towns became outposts and sanctuaries, civilians became hunters. What little of society and peace that had once been was charged off in a public outcry for militarization, for revenge.
For the man who had given their fears a voice, who had been the face of their desire for survival.
Cornwall’s death was truly the birth of what seemed like the apocalypse.
