Salamon2 has been inserted into Jon Arryn's head in the year 292 AC. Will he be able to "build a better Westeros" as the logic of Self-Insert stories demands (with of course copious amount of details given to the how-to aspect of construction and innovation), all while preventing the events from A Game of Thrones from occurring? Or will his genre savvy self and love of literary criticism by Northrop Frye doom him to instead satirize the genre of self-insert stories? The latter is the answer, oh most definitely the latter.

Summary
One morning Ned wakes up (before Robert arrives at Winterfell) and finds that all his dead family members are appearing all over Winterfell. First his father Rickard, then his brother Brandon, sister Lyanna, and then his mother Lyarra--each appearing with no memories from after they left Winterfell the final time before their deaths. Now Ned is forced to confront his own choices as a lord and re-examine his relationship with his past and future as he comes to term with members of his family he never got the proper chance to say goodbye to. In addition, all his family members begin to cause trouble for poor Ned and the current generation of Starks as they all interact with one another. Fun times always come at family reunions. ;)

Summary
Gendry is the last man standing at the Inn of the Crossroads and has run it by himself for a few years when one day, Lord Ned Dayne comes riding up alone looking for a meal and a room. The two reconnect after the wars and face the personal strife each has had to deal with since they'd last seen each other, and together begin to move forward with their lives.
Written in response to a Challenge from ShitMouth, who charged me with writing a fic about Gendry that did not involve Arya or Gendrya at all.

Summary
Based on a thread on Alternatehistory.com which challenged us to imagine different characters as their opposite gender. Here are a collection of a few of my summary attempts turned into stories, written in a drabble format to give a taste of what such a world might be like. The rating is mostly for chapters to come.
Chapter Six, Daemon Targaryen, raised by his cousin Stannis, dreads the meeting that he's feared for most of his life.
Chapter Seven, Jonelle Snow fights against a storm to find her little brother.
Chapter Eight: Lollar Stokeworth drinks with his brother of the battlefield, Bronn.
Chapter Nine: Robert Baratheon is born with a Targaryen ability most thought long gone, one in which upon having their first sexual encounter, the Targaryens reflect their dragons and are able to shift between male and female at will.

Part Three of the Rise and Fall of the Baratheons Series. It is highly suggested that you read So Soars the Young Falcon and A Pack of Wolves before this.
Beginning in 299, three major events will spark a slumbering Westeros, setting it aflame. From the North, the Wildlings are pushing down on the Wall and threaten the Kingdom. In the South preparations for the wedding of Princess Rhaenys and Prince Durran are underway, while Oldtown wakes up one morning to find the head Septon of the Starry Sept murdered in the middle of his own Sept. Amidst this shift, a new generation begins to come of age, forever altered by the actions of their parents. Twinkling above as either a warning or some other sign from the Gods is a bleeding star.

This story attempts to look at Harrenhal, Ashara, the Daynes, and other characters in a manner outside the well trod path most stories set either during the Rebellion or at Harrenhal take them down. You have been warned.

I was challenged to try and imagine what purging Aerys of his madness in a "Lord of the Rings" manner (think of where Gandalf purges the King of Rohan) would look like in the A Song of Ice and Fire universe. Here is the result.
