Marcy stopped bouncing. It was comical how quickly her shoulders slumped into themselves and how her eyelids became lidded with exhaustion.

Until one night, when it starts to rain, when Marcy crawls through Sasha’s paint-chipped windowsill, practically glowing like a second moon, and starts to tell Sasha all about how Anne just fucking kissed her.

Summary
For someone whose prophecy-assigned greatest strength is connecting to others, Anne certainly doesn't have many friends. Sure, she has the Plantars, but they're more like family. And sure she has Sasha and Marcy, but lately the word "friends" feels... off when it comes to them. Whatever the case, it's not easy for any of them to relate to other high schoolers after spending six months in another dimension together.
A party could be fun, right? (Spoiler: it's not. Or maybe it is, but for the wrong reasons.)

Summary

The photos don’t do a great job of capturing it, but Adora knows that she saw the she-ra at the edge of the forest that night. Yes, it was twilight and long shadows can play tricks on the eyes, but the meadow was still illuminated by the last rays of the setting sun and the giant mass of blonde fur streaking towards the woods was unmistakable. No other animal on the Etherian Peninsula is that large, and it was clearly running on two legs, not four.
News of the she-ra sighting goes national when the reporter from the Seattle Tribune picks up the story. It quickly spreads from the Tribune to the tabloids and eventually the story ends up in the opening monologue of the Tonight Show. By then, half of America has heard of Adora Gray, the park ranger and wildlife ecologist who claims to have seen the legendary she-ra.
On the other side of the country, a reporter pulls an assignment to spend a month on the Etherian Peninsula investigating Adora Gray and her supposed she-ra sighting. What her editor doesn't know is that she and Adora have a history with the she-ra that stretches back long before news of Adora's photos broke.

Summary
The fire climbs to an even greater height, crackling and whipping in the light desert breeze. Catra watches it with rapt attention, fearful to let her gaze linger on Adora for too long.
“But we don’t have to fight, you know,” Adora says. “I mean...what’s the point of it now? There’s no rebellion here. And no Horde. There’s just you and me, and a lot of things that wouldn’t hesitate to kill either of us.”
“So, what?” demands Catra. “We pretend to be a team again? After everything?”
“If it keeps us alive,” says Adora. “I’m willing to put all that aside if you are.”
Catra and Adora end up exiled to the Crimson Waste together. If they're going to conquer gangs, quicksand, serpents, and other desert threats, they'll need to learn to trust one another again.
