A neo noir detective AU set in early 1960s New York.
Detective James Buchanan Barnes, the top brass of the homicide unit in the NYPD encounters the case of a lifetime. Women getting killed left and right under the most bizarre circumstances. Something he hadn't thought he'd see in his wildest dreams. A budding romance with a burlesque dancer of all people. Deceit, murder, friendship and love. Will he be able to save everything he holds dear before the inferno of a man blinded by rage consumes them all? Or will he see the world around him burn as he is left helpless and hopeless, nothing he can do but watch in pain as everything he built for himself just crumbles into the abyss?
I've always been a sucker for the serial killer stuff. Hope you enjoy reading this as much as I have while writing.

Bucky Barnes is an asshole. At least, that's been your only experience with him. You haven't done anything to upset him but he won't stop trying to get under your skin. It's driving you absolutely crazy. Of course, it doesn't help that he's ridiculously gorgeous and he knows it. You hate the way your body reacts to him. Natasha suggests that maybe all you need is a distraction. Or is there something more to it?

Summary
This multi-chapter story is about what happens after Robert goes to prison. The story starts when Robert goes to prison. Each chapter represents a year. A year of Robert in prison and what all happens during that year. Each chapter will also be written from the perspective of a different character. There will be plenty of angst. Not a lot of happiness obviously with robron not together but I'm trying to be somewhat realistic in writing this considering how it initially is set up. Can't promise any certain ending because I don't know myself yet how it will end. We'll see how it plays out as I write each chapter.
