Local rock band Selfish Guarantees needs a new lead guitarist, and despite drummer Spencer Agnew's resistance, Shayne Topp seems to be the perfect choice. Now Spencer will have to decide if he wants to push Shayne away for good, or pull him closer than anyone else has ever been.
Inspired by songs from the band Cage the Elephant.

“…am I awake?” Alex asks after a silent century.
Spencer nods, shame-faced. “Yeah. I’m so sorry, Alex. I’m still waking up, my brain’s still all foggy—”
“Bet,” Alex says, tilting his head like a curious animal. “You missed, then.”
Spencer blinks once, twice. “What?”
“You missed,” Alex repeats, then closes the distance.

“Everyone else is starting to head out,” Shayne says. “I can stay and hang. If you want.”
“Yeah,” Spencer says after a beat. “Alright.”
Shayne’s face brightens, — immediately looking softer — satisfied with Spencer’s response. He pulls a chair over and positions himself to sit sideways, choosing to face Spencer instead of the screen.
As they sit, the noise of the office fades out, leaving behind only Shayne’s quiet commentary and the low hum of equipment.
