Most people who have these dreams are mages, and most mages will have a soulmate dream at some point in their lives. A person can have multiple soulmates or only the one, but the dream will only reveal them at the exact right moment.
Jade and Floyd had always been weird. Too weird for most of their classmates and peers, certainly. And when they learn they’re soulmates despite being related, they assume that’s the end of any involvement with anyone else.
