Summary
A DS9 alternate history. Eighteen years before it would become Deep Space 9, two people from different worlds meet on the Cardassian station of Terok Nor.
One, the young Gul Dukat, has arrived to become the eighth Prefect of a rapidly failing attempt to imperialize the planet Bajor, and is determined to fix this mess as he's fixed so many others.
The other, a Bajoran revolutionary named Tora Naprem, has spent the better part of two decades interned for inciting a civil uprising that died the day the Cardassians landed, and whose sharp tongue and clever wit may be the end of her yet.
Common sense would situate them as enemies. But as circumstances conspire to bring them together, Dukat and Tora find themselves working as a team against the powers that be to attempt to bring peace and order to Bajor. And as their feelings for one another begin to grow, from enmity to friendship to something more, they may be forced to choose between the world they've known, and whatever new and uncertain future lies in wait for a Bajoran and a Cardassian in love.

This story is incredible - riveting, beautiful, wonderful. I deeply enjoy Kellan's style, and the story they're crafting here is exquisite. If you enjoy the Mistress and want to take a peak at how a few other fan favorite characters made it through the Occupation, this is a fantastic story to check out.

Man, I've literally never read Hanzo/McCree in my life -- I came here because of a link on some amazing fanart and just. Holy shit. This fic has singularly defined how I feel about both of these characters and reminded me how much I love slow burns. Wow.
