“Does anyone else get tired of this question? I don’t see why we’re being compared in the first place,” Kit says, blunt as ever, voice tinny through the phone speakers. Jade feels irritation pulse through her. “We’re fully different bands. Different origins, different approaches to music as a whole. We just play the same genre under the same label,” She runs a hand through her hair, and Jade cringes for her hairstylist. “I guess we both have hot, redheaded bassists…” She looks off as though reconsidering her whole point, but ultimately shakes her head. “But other than that, I don’t get it. So there’s no rivalry.”
There is definitely a rivalry. Contractually. And, contractually, Kit really wasn’t supposed to denounce it.
